Kasaguadua combines conservation of a creek with tropical rain forest and 4Km of trails within mountainous landscape for an unforgettable touristic experience. Check the location map (directions on aerial photography) in the Pictures Gallery. IMPORTANT: the tour starts at 10am from our gate. It lasts a bit less than 2 hours and the fee, to be paid at the entrance, is 30 thousand colombian pesos or 10 dollars. Being close to coffee farms, after the tour you can do any of the coffee tours. We can provide with information.
Saw the good reviews here and we can only confirm that it was excellent. We learned a lot about the area and the cloud forest, and even saw a white armadillo. A good hike up and down the mountain and the kids loved to learn about the eco system and the differences to other places. Carlos is an excellent guide and very passionate about their project.

What an amazing experience. The most beautiful cloud forest and to top it all various opportunities to see red howler monkeys! Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable and friendly. He has eyes like a hawk and helped us to spot the monkeys in the trees. I really recommend this place! We called to arrange the trip. I think if you don't speak Spanish you could send a message. The forest is not too far outside of filandia.

Permaculture countryside farm within the nature reserve Barbas-Bremen, surrounded by waterfalls, water springs, a variety of birds, native forest, ecological trails, and organic crops. Typical house of the coffee region with more than 50 years in "bahareque" of wood and tile in mud, the stove works with wood, in the house lives a traditional local farmer family with which space, its customs, and culture are shared. It is an ideal place to disconnect from the city and meet nature and its essence. Reserve La Rivera is surrounded by native and fog forests with fauna and flora typical of these heights (2.200 masl). Our Permaculture Master plan guides our sustainable productive models of medicinal plant crops, native tuber garden, flowers, fruit forest, composting and worm farm and forest-pasture systems of animals. With the possibility of walking through 7 wonderful paths that will take you to discover rivers, forests, diverse birds or the top of a mountain.

The interpretor met me near the Basilica in Filandia and provided a ride into the preserve (about 2 km). The host provided a short orientation about the area and then we began our 4 km hike. It was a fairly rugged trail through the dense forest. Along the way we were very fortunate to not only hear an extremely loud confrontation between two families of Howler monkeys, but we also spotted 4 or 5 different families ranging from an apparent single male to a large family of about 14. In total we saw 30 to 40 Howler monkeys (the host said this was a very rare occasion). I love hiking and the trail was fairly difficult, but we proceded slowly and there were many spots to rest while we were viewing the beautiful flowers, trees and wildlife. This was the highlight of my trip to Colombia.
