This place was so neat to see! Free roaming was nice and it was a really neat spot to stop and see the fish in all stages of life. I would go again!

Ochoco Reservoir

Stop by the Reservoir on your way to/from Prineville. Beautiful views, plus it has a small campsite and bathroom area, plus a boat launch. The water amidst all the high desert rocks is a stark contrast.

We enjoyed the walk through the junipers and open area. We did not go down to the river when we saw what the climb back up would entail. The paths were gravel and easy to walk. We saw a couple lizards and some birds. The big wildlife was probably resting in the shade because it was the middle of the afternoon and there were several other groups in the area. It was a restful and interesting walk.
