I hesitated to reserve this shovel, but I got a government employee discount and it was close to the Church we were going to for a funeral. It's close to the highway and easy to get to. There's a Longhorn Steakhouse and Cracker Barrel on the same road/path to the hotel. But, the establishment is dated. The decor is dated. But, the room was clean, bed was comfortable and staff were more than accommodating/friendly. For our 3 day trip it was fine. Quiet neighborhood, quiet room.

I have stayed at this hotel many times during my career. Prior to this stay, I had last stayed before the Covid pandemic. Even at that time, the hotel was starting to show it's age. During this visit, I had a sense that the hotel had declined even further. The lobby area appeared run-down. There was limited staff (1 person) at the front desk, there was garbage piled in the trash cans in the front of the hotel, and the rooms looked like they had been last refurbished in the 1990's. Nothing about this hotel was nice. But the worse thing for me was a feeling that things were unsafe here. There were unscrupulous looking people hanging out in the front of the building and in the lobby area. Young kids were roaming around in large groups, and questionable people were roaming around the corridors on the level where my room was located. In the parking lot at the rear of the building, there were many cars parked, more so than it seemed people staying at the hotel. To me it appeared that part of the hotel was assigned as public housing, although I have no way to verify this. I have been a member of the Holiday Inn "Priority Club" (Now IHG rewards) since 1985. I have always stayed at Holiday Inn properties, hundreds of nights in my career. I chose HI because the hotels are usually fairly priced, in safe locations, and the properties well maintained. I can tell you that this stay has changed my mind a bit. The IHG management needs to decide it these are the types of properties they want to keep associated with their name brand. To me, it's a no brainer.

I have never been to hotel/motel that was this dirty and smelled terrible! We went to the store to buy air freshener, and cleaning wipes (which did not help with the smell). My cleaning wipe was yellow from all the nicotine on the surfaces. The tub was dirty, stained, the sink did not drain because the lever was non existent, there was a big crack in the floor which had dirt embedded in it. The floor in the whole room had crumbs and was dirty. The tv remote was taped together and the air unit was cracked and the door panel coming off. The outside area had a used syringe in the mulch. They charged us a lot of money for this room, and it was not worth it for sure!

When booking this hotel we should have noticed no one had written a review in several years. Our first impression when we arrived was the hotel looked very tired and run down. We stayed because we were leaving first thing in the a.m. but we probably should have looked for an option somewhere else. While places like the bathroom were clean the hotel had a tired dirty look to it. The carpet in both the hallways and the room was badly worn and stained. It made us leery of putting things down on the floor. Repairs had been made to holes in the wall and then painted and those spots were rough at best. Pass this one by if you’re in the area.

I recently staying at this hotel. First the staff was great. The breakfast was great. I stayed in a first floor unit. The slider led to a lovely balcony. Unfortunately no chairs on it. Very disappointing. The room above me had a child screaming all day. Sounded like a girl with a temper tantrum. No kidding it went on for hours. The room had an endless revolving door. Constant door slamming and pounding. Constant screaming.

Friendly and helpful staff. Our housekeeper was outstanding. Location was very convenient for us to visit from Boston to Newburyport. Quiet at night with separate AC in living area and bedroom of our 1 bedroom suite. However the building itself was badly in need of refurbishing. Many dings, dents, poorly done repairs in carpets, walls, etc Run-down nature of the building probably contributed to patrons’ littering, leaving dog hair in halls, elevators, etc. Despite positives i wouldn’t chose this hotel again.
