An old country house, completely restored and sourrounded by a olive trees park. In the middle of the countryside and facing the Romanic S.Pietro e Paolo Cathedral of Sovana village.
We spent a couple nights at the Sovana Hotel and Resort in what was, for us, a luxurious upgrade from our reservation at Albergo Scilla. We were in the area to visit sites of Etruscan ruins, and Sovana itself was a charming village. Beyond the basics of clean and comfortable, the spacious and tastefully decorated accommodations and the verdant grounds with pool, fountain, and lovely foliage were enchanting. There were several lovely sitting areas in the common spaces. A large “continental” breakfast (as far as I know, there were no hot dishes offered) was included, with juice, hot drink, and choices of yogurt, fruit, pastries, meat, cheeses, etc. We didn’t have a lot of contact with staff, but what we did have was professional and competent. Of course, we were paying €65/night for a room at the less luxurious (we suppose!) hotel owned by the same family. Our room here listed at €200/night, so, if we had been paying that, our expectations might have been different! We would happily give the Albergo Scilla a try if we return one day!

Very happy that me and my fiance stayed here. We were looking for an in between stay from our travels to Rome and Florence. Albeit a small town, its very beautiful and incredibly friendly. The room was nice and clean, we were served a nice breakfast the next morning, very pleasant stay in a must see Tuscan village.

We are in the Tuscan Maremma. The SCILLA HOTEL (3 stars) is located in the center of Sovana, divided into two medieval buildings, one facing the other; whose restaurant (Ristorante dei Merli) is famous for its typical Maremma cuisine Sovana, an ancient Etruscan city, today a medieval village of 100 inhabitants, is the ideal place to spend relaxing days and discover the most interesting part of the Maremma: the Etruscan Necropolis with tombs excavated in the tuff, Sorano and Pitigliano, Saturnia with its thermal baths and many other places.
Savona is a lovely village, quaint, peaceful but with restaurants enough for 2 nights. Stayed with my parents, them in a superior room and myself in a double for single use. I have to say the superior is not very different to a standard (fancier bed), if I was to recommend I would say for the difference on price choose the standard room. All rooms are plain but classic with good bathrooms. They are in my opinion due a repaint, lots of scuffs in the paintwork. A fresh coat of paint would really make a difference. Breakfast was good, fresh croissants, basic meat and cheese, juices, cereals and fresh coffee. Great location and great parking. We recommend the restaurant La Tavernetta for their wild boar main course and EehGia for the second night. We couldnt get the wifi to work unfortunately. Overall loved the village and would choose Scilla again, especially if the rooms were freshened up.

I spent 3 days at PoggiaBa with my wife and my daughter in late December. The scenary is great in the winter season too. PoggioBa is a lovely, country house on top of plateau made of tuffs. This old house (totally renovated) is encircled by vineyards below and green fields with sheep. We stayed in the floor apartment partially digs into the rock. Our room, as the the upper apartment is furnished with gusto. The owners are very nice and we had all mornings a great mediterranean breakfast with local products and homemade sweets, cakes and marmalade. I strongly suggest PoggioBa also because the house is very close (a few minutes driving) to the middle-age villages of Pitiigliano, Sovana and Sorano. Luigi
