Hotel Santo Domingo Lucena is set in the heart of the historic Andalusian town of Lucena. The building was once a convent, and still has a beautiful 18th-Century cloister. Bedrooms at the hotel are simple and comfortable. They all have air conditioning and satellite TV. The en suite bathroom has a hairdryer and toiletries. The hotel also has an elegant restaurant. It serves typical local food. There is also a coffee shop and a bar. Free WiFi access is available in the whole hotel. Lucena has a famous Mudejar church and a Moorish castle. The town is 60km from Cordoba and 85km from Malaga. There is also good access to Granada, Seville and Jaen.
Charming and grand old building, cool and airy. Very central and excellent base for exploring Lucena. Bedrooms large and comfortable and the beds (two doubles in our double room!) were brilliant. Really helpful and friendly staff - found us secure storage for our mountain bikes no problem, and also lent us an iPhone charger overnight (I’d accidentally left mine at a previous stop on the Via Verde). Good breakfast and a good range of options including some fresh fruit and nice croissants.

This is a quaint little hotel pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It is very old fashioned. It feels like your grandparents place when you were a kid. It is surrounded by olive trees and beautiful rolling hills. We had a nice hike in the nearby national park (getting there requires a car) and also walked up the hill from the hotel to the church. It’s not a fancy hotel but it’s clean and everything works. We have two children so we had to get two rooms as they seem to have only doubles. The rooms came with a safe but no fridge. There is a nice outdoor seating area. Dinner in the restaurant was fine but nothing extraordinary. Breakfast was very basic; we chose eggs and coffee. My daughter had croissants which were clearly out of a package. We consider this hotel to be a good value for money.

Our room was small with no outlook whatsoever , it was clean as was the ensuing bathroom . The beds we found to be hard but that is a personal observation. The reception was friendly and we found the central location suitable for our need however it could be too noisy for some as there are bars very nearby. Perfectly acceptable for the one night.

I have stayed in here for a wedding nearby. I have to say, for me , it has been a good experience!! The bed was amazing , comfortable mattress and pillow!! My room was really clean and the air con was working properly. The staff was very friendly , I asked to one of the staff is they had glue to try to fix my bag and he was really helpful. Near here , maybe few houses next to it, there is a bar that they make lunch menus for 8 euros !! And breakfast is amazing!! I need to be honest and say that my friend who stay in another room say that she didn't like it but I think she is quite particular!! Haha What can u expect for 35 euros for two people?! For me great great place!!!

Despite holding a credit card as security our group of 7 were not allowed to check in. Eventually it took over an hour to get room keys. During this process the trainee receptionist was not helped by his manager who sat outside playing with her phone. This was a check in experience worse than any hotel in over 50 years of world wide travelling.
