Reviewed By dheiman62The room was very clean and fresh. Large room with a sofa and armchair with ottoman. Great location if you are going to Round Top to go antiquing. Nice lobby and large breakfast area. Hot breakfast included.

Power outage Shower
Reviewed By Thequeenbee02No power for 4 days, coupled with no water for the same amount of time, drove us from our home to find a motel with hot, running water. This motel assured us that they had water. It’s an older unit and because of the oppressive below zero temperatures, the room and vinyl floor were freezing. I turned the heat on high and it took almost the hour we had the room for it to warm up. The room was very clean and had a small refrigerator and microwave plus a big TV. But the shower was wonderful. Hot water in an endless supply. It was worth every penny of the $77 charge for the hour we were there! The people at the front desk were nice. The room was clean. The shower was excellent. What more could you ask for?

The Oak Motel is a small motel in the heart of La Grange TX, by the Square across the street from Hanks Express and next to Subway. We are a few blocks from the Colorado River and a few miles from Round Top TX. We have remodeled in 2017 each room has Microwave and Mini Fridge and WiFi. We hope to see you soon.

Reviewed By marshajeantxRoom smelled strongly of bleach. Mattress smelled bad and wasn’t comfortable. Bathtub faucet didn’t work - only hot water - and tub / tile were in very poor shape. Old chairs and junk were in front of rooms; place is old and in need of updating badly. Breakfast was juice and granola bars.

Like sleeping in an Ashtray
Reviewed By jonmarsdenMy room stank of cigarettes, STANK! It got into my clothes, so everything had to be washed when I got home. The A/C unit in the wall is so noisy, you can either have A/C or sleep, but not both! The tv only has the infomercial channels, so you can't watch anything on tv. It's disgusting, sorry, but it is.

Disappointed with the Hilton Brand
Reviewed By dixonjim65My wife and I were in town for a relative’s celebration of life and needed a place to stay for one night. As a Hilton Diamond member, I always attempt to stay with the brand. Upon arrival, late at night, we had a difficult time finding the hotel, as the sign was partially burned out and located next to a small strip mall. We checked in and were never offered the Diamond benefits by the clerk. When We asked about the Diamond benefits, which were displayed on the counter, the clerk said they were all out of the waters etc. No apology or anything. It was late so no big deal. After getting to our room, we went to get ice, which is located on the first floor at the rear of the hotel. The ice machine was apparently broken and would not produce ice. We went to the clerk who did not really care. I think we interrupted his tv show. The following morning, we wanted to get a little workout in before breakfast. Come to find out the gym is closed with the door papered over. Nothing on their website, at check-in or any other time did they tell us of these issues. As far as the room, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was nice and hot. Would We stay at this hotel again? Not if they fix these issues, there are not really too many options.
