Where do I start? If your thing is being on vacation stressed out by phone calls, text messages, and emails, this is not your place, but if you are up to a extraordinary experience, involving top class service, immaculate rooms, spectacular food, and time to rest, the Explorean Kohunlich should be at the top of your list. Our stay was spectacular, from the time we were picked up at the airport, until we were dropped off 5 days later. The hotle is located in the middle of the jungle, about an hour's drive from Chetumal's airport; once you get there, you are greeted by people that have nothing else in mind but to make you feel you are the most important guest in the resort. The villas are off veering pathways, surrounded by vegetation; once you arrive to your villa, you are greeted by a patio with a hammock, a sofa, two chairs, and nothing else but nature. The rooms are fairly large, with nice furnishings, and the bed is soooo comfortable that will make your stress disappear after the first night. There is only one restaurant, but you don't need more, the food is unbelievably good, and there is a large selection. I can keep writing, but by now I think you get the point. If you are looking for a spectacular place for a different vacation, look no further. PS If you visit with your significant other, make sure to book the romantic diner in the jungle, you will not regret it...

Located in strategical spot; the Mayan World door, Global Express Escarcega offers a close location to the main tourist places in the area; Cancun, Merida, Campeche, Calakmul, Palenque, Edzna and many more. with wide and comfortable rooms; first class services and all in the same path to your final destination.
We had planned to stay in Conhuas (near Calakmul) for another night before driving to Campeche the following morning, but when our basic cabana accommodations (no Wifi, little-to-no hot water) lost power, we gave up the ghost and, with only an hour to go until darkness fell, threw our stuff into the rental car and drove to Escarcega. Googling hotel reviews as we came into cell service, we found the Global Express, which sounded decent and, upon arrival, looked clean and tidy. The receptionist was very nice and allowed us to see a room. At about $34 USD, with lights, Internet, and hot water, we were relieved to have a decent spot to spend the night. The room, while basic and in need of some updating, had two double beds, which, weirdly, were made up with fitted sheets and blankets, but no top sheets. The receptionist was kind enough to go find us a couple. The LED lighting was adequate. There was a complementary bottle of water. We slept well and, in the morning, I opened the sliding glass door curtain, which made the room sunny and bright. Some maintenance that has been deferred would benefit this property. For example, when my husband was shaving, he suddenly noticed water gushing from underneath the sink and spilling out onto the floor. Looking for the source of the problem, he saw that a pipe under the sink had come apart! Pros: easy to find, conveniently located with a Burger King and convenience store very close by, modern exterior, pleasant lobby with complementary coffee and snacks for purchase, helpful staff, clean and bright hallway, good Wi-Fi, nice pool area, good value for the price, excellent Covid protocols. In an area with limited choices, if you're passing through and need a place to lay your head, you can feel comfortable staying here for a night. Note: our room faced the adjacent gas station and, although we weren't bothered by noise throughout the night, light sleepers might want to request a room facing the pool area.

It's a good place to make a stop on a way from Mexican Gulf to Caribbean ( or vice versa). The hotel stays in the middle of nowhere. It looks fresh new. It seems some development is in a process. The lobby looks little bit strange ... like a big hangar. There is pool on a backside. Do not count on good view.

hotel yaakunah, is a family, modest place that offers visitors a pleasant rest to be located in one of the traditional colonies of the Mexican people. We have wifi, air conditioning, tv, cable, large parking.
Very neat, quaint, quiet, clean, and comfortable. Very little English but enough to get by. Home cooked breakfast of eggs fruit toast and coffee on their open patio. Neighborhood appeared sketchy at first but after short walk around the people were friendly and won me over. It’s just a typical working class Mexican neighborhood. Great place!

It is a very clean and economical establishment, has internet, parking, accepts credit and debit card payments, and this is an affordable accommodation.
