100 mts away from Copahue thermal baths and 2000 mts high in the middle of Los Andes, you are going to feel like home! Welcome to Copahue Hotel! Our hotel has confortable rooms, digital TV and Wi-Fi. The hotel food, Jose in charge of it, is delicious! We rent clothes to take the thermal baths.
The main reason that we travelled to the tiny Andean village of Copahue was to go to the thermal baths complex. We also wanted to ride on horseback up to Volcan Copahue and walk to the beautiful waterfalls but cold weather and snow arrived so it was impossible. That is why they give low season deals in April and the hotel closes from the end of April for the winter. The hotel is ideally situated for the thermal complex as is everything else in Copahue but we do think that it is the best option in the village. We opted for the top category of room which was comfortable and spacious with a king bed and pleasant sitting area with cable TV. Good modern bathroom with big walk-in shower. We opted for half-board as the options for eating out are extremely limited. In high season it may be different. It was a set meal each night but we enjoyed trying different food without having to make decisions and the waiter, Ramon, is a character who smiles constantly, has an incredible memory for names, food and drink preferences etc. and sings as he serves. As it is in a remote location the bread, cakes etc are baked in-house. The media lunas at breakfast were so moreish. After all our travels in Argentina we are becoming fussy about our breakfast media lunas. The downside, which is why we have not rated this hotel more highly, is communication with the outside world. When we arrived the phone lines had been out of action for several days and did not become available during our 5 night stay. That would not have been so bad if the internet was working but that too was down so we were really cut off. There is one locutorio so we had to trudge through the snow and ice in order to make reservations for our onward travel by bus and also accommodation. The lady at reception, Marie Jose, spoke good English and was very helpful but was limited by the fact that there was no phone or internet. If you want to go to the thermal complex we recommend that you stay here. There is a larger choice of accommodation in nearby Caviahue but it is a half hour journey on steep mountain roads which would not be ideal in bad weather. Also we had 3 different treatments a day, which required 3 hours between each, so just walking across the road to our hotel was very convenient. We certainly enjoyed our stay.

Placed not far from the thermal complex, La Cabanita offers, with only 26 accommodations places, a cozy and worm place attended by its owners and a familiar atmosphere with personalized attention.
