Absolutely Incredible!
Reviewed By Rhiannon2020202After travelling from UK to Roscoff and making our way down to the Dordogne, we stopped for a night at this beautiful spot before making our last stretch of the journey. To say we were blown a way is an under exaggeration. The two hosts were so attentive and helpful throughout our entire stay and were so friendly with our dog. We had options to sit and relax inside or outside in their luxury garden which looked incredible. After arriving in the late afternoon, most restaurants were closed in the area so the hosts offered to head to the super market and prepare us food for the evening which we gladly accepted. The food was impeccable and every detail was thought out, one of the hosts was a trained chef who created specific meals catering to vegetarian, gluten free and others. We had the pleasure of meeting their lovely little dog Paco and fully enjoyed his company throughout our stay. We took a lovely stroll around the area and the scenery was such a sight. The rooms were spacious and again the attention to detail was noted from the different textures pillows to the pink patterned toilet paper in the bathroom. After a luxury sleep we woke up to a breakfast that was just so well executed including fresh bread, croissants, fresh fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice and so many different types of tea. I could not fault this complex and would absolutely recommend to anyone passing through Chef Boutonne. The hosts spoke full English, Deutch, German and French. It was lovely speaking to the other residents within the complex during the duration of dinner.

We offer bed and breakfast in the buildings of a beautiful old watermill just 5 minutes from the centre of Chef-Boutonne in the quiet hamlet of Lusseau. We offer a comfortable chambres d'hôtes service with traditional continental breakfast.
Perfect for us
Reviewed By Essex776We have one more day left of our trip and can honestly say we have had the most peaceful stay here. Cherry is the Perfect hostess. Always on hand but not intrusive. Our accommodation ‘Higgledy’ has its own entrance, is spotlessly clean, with a modern bathroom...plenty of room for us. If we are back in this area again, we will not hesitate to stay again.

Reviewed By annielincolnshire48This is a lovely location. The site is clean and very tidy with good amenities. Really nice lake next to site with beach and water leisure activities. So nice and quiet especially this time of year. Warm and sunny ideal for our BBQ tonight with plenty of local wine of course. Grape vines along the route and tasting aplenty. Also lots of nice places to visit in this area and a bike is a necessity as roads are quiet and places within easy reach.

Reviewed By s_bastieng567La maîtresse de maison, Nieve, a franchement le sens de l'accueil, elle est aux petits soins avec les clients. Le petit déjeuner est complet et varié. Les chambres sont très confortables et propres avec une literie de qualité. Je recommande vivement cet établissement.

A large piece of heaven
Reviewed By FellowTraveler819164Difficult to put into words how amazing the gites are. 4 star at least. We have never stayed in such a clean, well thought out and well equipped gite, ever. Only there for three days before flying home, we would have happily stayed for two weeks or longer. The area is beautiful, supermarket, patissierie and bars very close. Our hosts, Sam and Carla are just as amazing as their gites, so very helpful and friendly, we would strongly recommend these gites to everyone, whether you are looking for a two week holiday or travelling around the Charente, you really should stay at Le Cygnets, it's perfect.

Reviewed By Global12019484879Popped down to the region to start our house hunting. Woody, and Higgs, couldn't have been more helpful with their advice and knowledge of the area. The bedroom was spotless; bathroom too as was the whole house to be honest. Breakfast was enough to keep me going until lunch. Wifi was excellent throughout. The bed was very comfy; I had the room overlooking the garden, but this being a quiet street I think the front room would have been just as quiet. Overall, I felt very welcomed and very relaxed; a real home from home! Ideal location from which to explore the area and thoroughly recommended for short stays like mine, or longer ones
