Berlin is an edgy city, from its fashion to its architecture to its charged political history. The Berlin Wall is a sobering reminder of the hyper-charged postwar atmosphere, and yet the graffiti art that now covers its remnants has become symbolic of social progress. Check out the Weltzeituhr (world time) Clock, topped by a model of the solar system, then turn back time by dining at the historic Zur Letzten Instanz, a 16th century restaurant that was frequented by Napoleon and Beethoven.

While incredibly hungover, trying to wander around the city, it began pouring down with rail. We only had one day left to tick off some sightseeing boxes, so we got roped in by a salesperson outside the Hauptbahnhof (central station). Best decision that we could have made in the circumstances. We got a good look around the city, the price was reasonable and the whole thing took a reasonable amount of time.

I was lucky to have a very personal tour with one other who happened to be a trainee tour guide. I found Chris to be very good and descriptive and it was nice to be fully involved. I saw other groups and they were not engaged as much, my guide brought it all to life. Enjoyed the tour a lot.

The boat trip was really nice and the bus drivers very friendly. Unfortunately, we had to wait for over an hour for the bus to arrive, we gave up the second time. Customers were not informed that the company collaborated with Big Bus on the day. No one answered when we called the company. The Big Bus drivers were not informed about Stromma services, not even where their bus stops were and how long the service was running. It was a very disappointing experience and we wasted so much time during our short time in Berlin waiting for busses that according to the schedule should have been running. Not worth the money tbh, we didn't even get to finish one tour during 24h due to delays and lack of communication from the company.

we had the chance to see Berlin via Zoom today with Jeremy Minsberg. It was wonderful - lots of history before, during, and after Hitler. His tour was 2 hours and included a wealth of information about Jewish life in Berlin then and now. I had never been particularly interested in seeing Germany again (I was in Munich in the 1980's) but am now looking forward to seeing Berlin in person once the pandemic ends. I took this tour with my husband and two children, aged 6 and 8 on a Saturday. Went to catch the bus that was supposed to have a 16 minute frequency but there had been a problem and the bus took half an hour to arrive. The firs seat we took had terrible audio, glitches, weird sound, bad signal, couldn't hear anything, but changed seats after a couple of stops and it was ok. First part of the trip was ok, nice views up to Alex, there the bus stopped for at least 20 minutes under the blazing sun, after a long time someone came up and explained something in german, waited a bit longer. Finally the tour resumed but it turned out a big part of it had been chopped off because there was some sort of demonstration at Brandenburg Tor, we had to take an alternate route that collapsed with a traffic jam. So it was super slow, nothing much to see, no audio guide of course, kids bored and complaining. It was a pain and after a good 30 minutes of that and having made no more than ten blocks we just got off the bus. I'm not saying it's their fault but I'm sure with some planning they could have come up with some sort of back up solution or compensation. We spent a lot of money for a botched experience.
