ANZAC Parade Walk

Moving memorials - beautifully crafted; well worth a walk along the avenue - both sides; choose a time of day that is conducive to walking and you will be rewarded; the horses at the Boer memorial are stunning/ superb/ moving/ lifelike. there is no shelter along the way and no facilities; we parked in the street parallel behind; must get out of car and walk to gain the best - stunning as you drive by but it insists you walk by;

For a taste of the Canberra Centenary trail this is a great introduction. Be rewarded with great views and plenty of bird life as you gradually ascend to the One Tree Hill Lookout. Keep an eye out for the critically endangered Orange Sunshine Moth when relaxing at the summit Lookout.

Corin Forest

Reviewed By holidayluvingmum - Wamberal, Australia

This was a great way for our children to experience snow for the first time at a fraction of the cost of taking them to Thredbo, snowy mountain ski resorts etc. We stayed in a cheap cabin in Canberra and drove 50-60 mins to Corin Forest. $20 for snow play, we bought toboggans and gear from Aldi. We went for the early morning 8:30 sessions which we thought were good, the snow was fresh and there was no problem getting a park. Our primary age kids and my partner also took ski lessons. Although the ski field is small it is perfectly adequate for first timers and they still had a ball. The ski teachers were helpful. After the lesson they had some time to free play skiiing down the slope. The “magic carpet” was easy for our 6yo to manage. Skiing package is more expensive than snow play- $100 per person for half day of lesson, ski hire and free play. But still, compared to the cost of accommodation, travel and lift passes etc in a ski resort, we could make our kids “dreams come true” in our budget. The pizzas from the cafe were yummy too and not overpriced considering they could choose to gouge you Lots to do in Canberra on the non snow days too
