Green Dog separates from other commercial dog kennels at Svalbard, since our dogs are a mix between the Greenland dog and husky – and also, since our family, consisting of 2 adults and 4 children – and our guides – are living at the kennel, year round. We put dog welfare above all, so it was a natural choice to live at the kennel, to be present with our 4 legged friends, at all times. Trapper’s Station – home to the Arctic trappers and their 90 Alaskan huskies. The loud barking of the huskies is the first thing you’ll notice as you approach the Trapper’s Station. Despite the noise they make, the dogs are friendly and eager to take you for a sled ride through the wild Arctic scenery.
