Religious pilgrims have been traveling to Jerusalem for centuries, yet you don’t have to share their zeal in order to appreciate this city’s profound cultural and historical significance. Plan on seeing the major sights, but also leave plenty of time to walk through the streets and simply immerse yourself in the daily life of such an ancient and revered place.

Located outside the walls of Jerusalem, this beautiful garden among a grove of olive trees is thought to be the place where Jesus particularly enjoyed prayer and contemplation.
Nice and small garden with lots of old olive trees and a large number of flowers. In the garden there are olive trees that are old and after 2000 years.

The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens is a gem in the heart of Jerusalem. It serves as an education, learning and research center, holds a diverse collection of plants from around the world which are displayed geographically and is a destination for tourism, recreation and cultural events. At around 30 acres, the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens is the largest in Israel. There are over 6,000 species and varieties of plants from around the world – Israel’s largest collection of live plants – displayed in 6 phyto-geographical sections – Southern Africa, Europe, North America, Australia, South-East and Central Asia and the Mediterranean. The sections simulate the landscapes of these areas and so there is always something blooming at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens.
we visited the botanical gardens, and we had a blast! the gardens are stunning including a gorgeous tropical greenhouse. to walk around a wild and beautiful garden and to be surrounded by thousands of different species from all over the world, was mind blowing. at the end we had a picnic on a beautiful peaceful lawn. if you are in Israel, it is a must.

This is a must-do! From a vantage point overlooking the vast Kidron Valley, which is traditionally identified by the Jewish, Muslims and Christians as the Valley of Decision - the place of final judgment - the views are uninterrupted and panoramic. The eye is quickly drawn towards Temple Mount, which is a large walled compound within the Old City of Jerusalem and the instantly recognisable Golden Dome of the Rock. Closer by is the picturesque Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, a beautiful Russian Orthodox Church adorned by seven gilded onion domes, each topped by a Russian Orthodox cross. There is so much else to see I could go on for a long while. We most certainly recommend this site; if you can go, don’t miss the opportunity.
