Drop in at our friendly Visitor Information centre to seek out the best on offer in sightseeing, attractions, places to stay, restaurants and the spectacular outdoor scenery and beaches that the Coromandel has to offer. Souvenirs, maps and guide books available.
The wife and I had strolled into town to check out the markets. We have been to the I-Site several times now to check out a few things so decided to pop in on our way past. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Most activities in or around Whitianga and the Coromandel Peninsula can be booked from here including transport in and out. There are a range of souvenirs available in the shop too as well as some informative narration. Situated in Albert Street which is the Main Street too.

Loved the Bread & Butter Gallery and the lady in the gallery was super helpful. We spent hours looking around as it is one of the few galleries I have visited where I wanted to buy something. Ended up buying a painting and three or four other bits. Had to leave before I went broke. Highly recommend.

The views of the bay are amazing from the lookout at the top and there are a few signs explaining a bit of the history of the area and the names of the islands in the bay. There is also a separate viewing area for Lonely Bay. There is parking available at the top and it is a short walk to the lookout from the car park, if you are walking it is a bit steep on the the way up.

So many pigs in all different sizes & colours! & super cute baby piglets. You will find Stu's wild pigs before "the waterworks" on 309 Rd, if travelling from Coromandel Town end. Must see for all ages! ????????????????????????

Such beautiful views went on a nice sunny day and thought it was a very easy walk I'm a kiwi and personally found it very easy to walk and I was wearing jandals my two and a half year old also enjoyed the walk went all the way to the top holding out hands for some parts definitely wouldn't go up there in wet weather and do be careful around back bay as it's fairly slippery and some of the steps up and down need some repairing other than that loved it was a great family friendly walk wonderful place to take a picnic and sit up on the hill overlooking the amazing views ????
