The Historic Green County Courthouse was built in 1891, and since that time the soaring clock tower has steadily marked the passing of time on the Square in downtown Monroe. The building is open weekdays (8 am - 4:30 pm) and offers a self-guided tour, a history room, and a photo opp with gavel and robe at the judge's bench.
The iconic feature in downtown Monroe, WI and center of all festivals, the Green County Courthouse stands central to the downtown square and provides a historic backdrop to summer concerts, the Cheese Festival and all city events. Come experience the charm of this little Swiss heritage town!

The Alp and Dell Cheese Store has something for everyone. TONS of wonderful cheeses, crackers, and other edibles as well as lots of cheese-related gift items including wonderful fondue pots and things from Switzerland. The owner is FROM SWITZERLAND and so very pleasant to deal with.
