Winter time open only by appointment. ea produces handcrafted earthenware, a modern interpretation of ancient pottery forms and ceramics with multipurpose use. All pieces are born based on stories as the purpose to keep continuing dialogue between man + object. Each object is handcrafted as an intention to create a unique collectible art piece - the perfect fusion of functionality and aesthetics. The aim is an exceptional ancient Greek forms and ideas adjust with contemporary use for creating functional art. Studio also provides pottery classes for adults and children. Appointment needed ea ceramic studio was established in 2010 by Ema Ramanskaite and Aris Tabatsikos
Ema and Aris were great hosts and teachers for the one afternoon class(approx. 5 hours) I and my girlfriend took at their studio. It was inspiring to be learning from people who truly love what they do. The atmosphere is very relaxed and creative. We contacted them some weeks before taking our trip and they were very flexible (and patient) in preparing a class designed for our level of experience. In addition, Ema was great in firing and organizing the shipping of the pieces to our home after the class. Besides the class, they have incredibly well-crafted and beautifully designed pieces at their shop! Don´t miss it!

If you visit Margarites, known for its pottery and ceramics traditions, this shop is a must-see. It's refreshingly modern and the souvenirs are not the usual kitsch you find elsewhere on Crete. Granted, most pottery shops in Margarites offer superb quality, but this one adds a dash of originality and surprise in the mix. You will always find a little something to bring back home with you. :)
