The Donkey Sanctuary

Reviewed By 891heidid

We sponsor a donkey so as we were holidaying in Ireland decided to visit him. The sanctuary is tucked away so we were pleased we had sat nav? Unfortunately when we visited in November the weather was dreadful and we couldn’t walk around the trail as it was closed to prevent damage. However the donkeys were all warm and snug in very deep straw with plenty of food. They were able to walk across the yard and a couple braved the weathe4 to come to the gate. We had a cup of tea and a chat to the lady running the #hop and purchased some beautiful Christmas cards. We will definitely go back when we next visit Ireland @nd hope for better weather!

Bridgetown Priory

I had learned about this place from Trip Advisor as I was travelling through this area, and decided that we would try to visit here. Finding the Priory was an adventure in itself and the roads are very narrow travelling to the Priory. There is limited parking and we were so happy to see the Priory from a distance, only stopping three times to ask for directions. When we arrived, the area was very well kept and there were so many boards with information in each room. Although there were many cars at the Priory, there was plenty of space to go around and be physical distant. It was disappointing to see some of the Priory in ruins. There was scaffolding around some of it, so many there will be some renovation work. There is no fee and you are free to meander around the whole area. It was so lovely and welcoming. A must when you are in the area.

Mallow Castle

I was not expecting to see such a fabulous and well kept area. There wasn't many people walking around and on my own, I didn't want to walk too far off the beaten track. A lovely space to have a picnic. I will definitely return with family
