Walk the Rock 4 Free are happy to make contribution-based tours so others with less means can still visit Gibraltar! The concept of a city tour where there is no set charge and tourists show their appreciation by leaving a tip is becoming increasingly popular across Europe and beyond.

Highest point you can get to by tour van and you can see Africa and Spain. Views were incredible! There was also a monkey feeding station.

We’ve been coming to Gibraltar now for 12 years and it’s so hard to find a bar with consistently good food, excellent staff and a really positive vibe - that is until we discovered the Yard about 18 months ago! First impressions always count with us and when we first discovered the Yard, we received a very warm and friendly welcome which is so very important. We instantly noticed that the Yard was spotlessly clean, well maintained and really trendy with great music and a fantastic atmosphere. Whilst the bar primarily is a “gin bar” (with about a hundred or so gins to choose from), they of course serve great beers, wines and other spirits along with a great food menu. Following many visits, we have now got to know the lovely Amy and her Mum Ellie (along with the other superb staff that work at the Yard). They are all dedicated and committed to every customer’s happiness and are so attentive, kind and nothing is too much trouble. They are always so warm and welcoming - it was like our second home in Gibraltar! We visited several times on our recent visit and everything was perfect from the excellent service, the outstanding food and more important now than ever the cleanliness and adherence to Covid guidelines! All the tables had been rearranged to ensure social distancing, all the staff wore masks at all times (which must be so uncomfortable in the heat), hand sanitiser always available (along with personal free hand gels given) and we were always asked to provide our track/trace details more latterly by scanning in via QR code. Menus also available using QR code too although hard copies given to customers who were less technologically minded! Toilets also always spotlessly clean and regularly checked. During what must be a very difficult period, we also liked the way the owners were regularly in attendance doing little jobs to improve things like varnishing tables/chairs, installing umbrellas, changing light bulbs and generally making sure the environment was safe which in Gibraltar generally is rare. In closing, we would like to once again offer our sincere thanks to Amy, Ellie and the whole team for making our holiday to Gib the best ever - even “nursing” us when we were hungover LOL. That really is what makes the difference here - the owners/team genuinely care about their customers which is so refreshing especially in Gibraltar. Fingers crossed, we will see you all in October! Make sure you give the Yard a try when you’re next visiting Gib - you’ll walk in as customers and leave as friends!

There are interesting shops and historic building along this road, which runs parallel to Main Street, well worth a visit

Both the PM's office and the parliament building (on John Mackintosh Square) are well worth seeing. Do not forget that Gib is self governing, despite being a British overseas territory
