If you love fine wine experience a special private daytour visiting some of the best vineyards of Châteauneuf du Pape, including a family-run estate, cultivated for 600 years by descendants of Pope Urbain VIII - world class wines. The village of Châteauneuf du Pape is the heart of a region full of history. A magical place that appears on the hill rising out of a sea of vines. At the summit the ruined château built by the popes in 14th century as a summer residence to escape the city heat of Avignon. The popes planted the town's first vineyards. On arrival visit the first local vineyard and learn about what makes the wines unique before lunch. In the afternoon visit two very different vineyards - first a winemaker with a 8ha vineyard based exclusively on the appellation & a 43ha family estate owned by five generations of wine makers. We introduce you to the iconic Châteauneuf du Pape wines established in 1880's where tradition is enhanced by modernism & excellence, & tasting of course.

Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Wine tasting and visits to the cellars of three exclusive Château where you have the opportunity to discover the wines, understand what makes it so special & taste the spectacular wines of the region

Exclusions: We include a stop for lunch and happy to make suggestions and reservations in advance.

This is a review about our experience "so far" with Christopher and Ooh Provence. A number of months ago, as usual, I did extensive research and found a photographer and I contacted him to see about a photo experience while in Marseille. He responded immediately and then told me about his tour company which extends beyond just photography. It was perfect...a guide that could help 2 amateur photographers get some unique shots in a great city plus learn about the history at the same time. I find this is a great way to explore a city. So, of course ,I booked and paid the deposit etc. and we confirmed our date. Then along came Covid 19 and I finally had to cancel .This company offers full refund up to 24 hours in advance of tour and Christopher had no problem with an immediate refund. I will add that is not the case with some hotels etc. I am so impressed with the customer service under very extraordinary circumstances and will definitely book with Ooh Provence in the future when we can return post Covid. Based on my experience so far I am sure we will have a great time touring Marseille and the surrounding area with Christopher. I often find the true test of a good travel company is how they handle unexpected problems and can be flexible. Christopher delivers on this for sure!!

I've thought about this review for a long time since our tour was back in February. Having been on multiple tours of this nature I feel comfortable giving a review of my experience. The tour itself was nothing special and actually a bit discombobulated. In the beginning, there was a lot of confusion and uncertainty as to what was going to happen due to two different tours taking place at the same time. After that was straightened out and we got underway. The tour guide was able and provided an adequate effort in providing information while also keeping us engaged. I did however feel he could have been more engaging and informative. On a separate note, we had a misunderstanding that resulted in us having to take a taxi to the meeting place that cost us 20 euros from the cruise ship. After getting there we spoke with the owner Helene who assured us that they would reimburse us that cost due to the mix-up. Long story short, that didn't happen and we only received a partial refund.

Tried twice to book the tour. Each time the operator came back to cancel the original tour: first time as it was supposedly too short notice even though I booked with the Viator team directly and they confirmed availability on the phone. Second time, the operator came back a few days after having made a confirmed reservation for a full day and wanted us to start earlier, cut the overall time by 40% of tour and offered a 20% discount. Since we did not believe that there was any merit to make a third booking, we are sadly not able to report on the actual experience to which have been looking forward. Disappointing!
