We've just drunk a bottle of the pink sparkling wine we bought on our recent visit to Chartham Vineyards, absolutely superb, we visited the vineyards to taste their recent vintages and to look at the art gallery. What an interesting experience, lovely people, keen and enthusiastic but friendly and welcoming. The wines we tasted were super, especially the Pinot Noir and the pink sparkler which is 100% Pinot Noir. My wife thought the sparkling wine the equal of just about any champagne she has tasted and I couldn't disagree with her. I'm taking a few bottles to France with me on our next visit to show our French friends just how good English wine is.

Farmers market, food hall and restaurant.
Always loved this place.. we regularly shop there! It can’t be beaten normally.. today I was a little bit upset although I must say this was a one off.. we did our shopping as we do each week and everyone was fantastic.. we got to the cheese counter where we usually spend about £20 on a couple of cheeses.. it was a different man to usual - 12th September.. my partner has a medical face mask exemption and he told her to put a mask on.. she explained she couldn’t and he refused to serve her cheese.. that’s fine - but it does mean that we won’t be going back.. there are a few farm shops around - the Goods Shed was our closest.. no argument but if you have a hidden disability and if that one particular man is at the cheese counter - you won’t get to purchase anything.. go when the friendly woman is there is the best advice.. also if you don’t want cheese then the Goods Shed is a great place to go! Below is my review from pre - Covid.. It all started on a rainy day.. my partner decided to get the slow cooker out and make a vegetable stew.. I was sent out to get the vegetables.. the Goods Shed sells an abundance of all different vegetables, cheeses, fish and meat plus a bakery.. the people that work there are so nice! Helpfulness is oozed in every part of the shed.. the flavour and quality of the food is second to none.. worth every single penny.. I’m in love with the place to be honest! Don’t take my word for it - go there and I bet you can’t find anything to complain about..

Tap Room and Gin Palace with 14 draught taps and over 100 gins from all around the world.
We were pleased to stumble across this bar in Canterbury, it was somewhere different to the average pub. There is a large gin list with recommendations of mixers. We would recommend here for a pre dinner drink and we would return!

Lovely atmosphere and some great music. Staff were friendly and helpful and the whole building has some fantastic precautions in place regarding Covid . We waited to be seated whilst they thoroughly cleaned down our table. Staff were very busy but still extremely courteous and took the time to give us some recommendations. Ordering is done through the app with a small optional service charge (during these times we happily applied the charge to support a local business). Some great beers on draft and amazing cocktails. We orders some small plates as we were slightly peckish which were wonderful. Overall, a cracking bar!

My husband and I visited the Duck Inn for Sunday lunch yesterday and we had the roast beef, never have we tasted such roast beef as we did , the joint was cooked in black treacle and curious brew beer. The staff were magnificent and the chef himself served us with our meal and listed the ingredients he used. Will certainly be going back with my family. The gravy was so delicious that I had had the gravy on its own when I finished my meal. The atmosphere was friendly , a roaring log fire greets you as you walk through the door ????????????????????????????????????
