Hidden within a historic railway arch, in the heart of the city, you can find Aberdeen’s first distillery for over 75 years and 1st ever Gin School. Visit us and discover the history of distilling in Aberdeen, tour the distillery, and even distil a bottle of gin to your own recipe. A unique selection of fully flavoured gins are available in our shop to take home. These are created in genuinely small batches by our head distiller here at the distillery. Whilst the trains rumble overhead, why not come and sample our latest flavours and discover the best of Scottish Gin.
I visited the distillery with a friend who had been given a gift voucher for two people. We did the discovery tour and it was absolutely brilliant! A totally enjoyable experience. Both Alan and Dan were very knowledgeable and their presentation and interaction with us was friendly and relaxed. It was so much fun! We received a G&T on arrival. After the tour, which doesn’t take long but is very informative, we then went on to taste several of the gins distilled there. It really was a fantastic afternoon and we will be back to do the Gin School Experience!

Take a look around one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries and discover the history and traditions of single malt scotch whisky. The GlenDronach distillery has been creating the finest sherried single malts for nearly 200 years. Our visitor centre and gift shop are open with guided distillery tours running regularly throughout the day.
What a wonderful place this is. And possibly one of the best tour guides I have had the pleasure of spending time with on a whisky tour. This is a smaller and more intimate distillery. Much removed from the larger visitor experiences you get at the big Speyside players. That is no bad thing. Get off the beaten track and try this place. You won’t be disappointed!

Glenglassaugh was founded in 1875 by Colonel James Moir and his two nephews. After being mothballed for more than 20 years, production was re-started in 2008. Visit Glenglassaugh Distillery and experience a Revival or Behind the Scenes Tour. Tours available all year Monday to Friday, open Saturday and Sunday May to September.

Neighbouring Balmoral Castle, Royal Lochnagar is the perfect place to discover how Scotch Whisky is made. Watch as our team of operators tend to our traditional mashtun, gleaming copper stills and fill casks at our traditional distillery, which retains much of its original charm. The tour ends with a dram of the award-winning Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old Single Highland Malt. Following Scottish Government guidelines through their phased re-opening approach, the time has come to open our doors and welcome back our visitors from 26th April 2021. To ensure the health and wellbeing of our employees and visitors, we will be implementing a number of precautionary measures. Find out how we are keeping you safe on our website before you visit us.
I took my mum and dad here to tour this magnificent gem in Royal Deeside. It was fantastic. A small distillery which allows you to get an appreciation for the art of whisky making. We were greeted with a very warm welcome by Eric, followed by an amazing tour of the distillery by Alex who was so helpful and friendly showing us around patiently answering our list of questions and we shared stories which made the tour feel really personal then afterwards we enjoyed a wee dram. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Royal Lochnagar and I’d like to thank both Alex and Eric for making out time there so special.
