Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

The NoMad, in collaboration with theory11, presents THE MAGICIAN, an intimate evening of magic, mystery, and deception. Starring Dan White. Every Weekend. The Magician is an elegant, immersive adventure inspired by classical magic in the modern setting of The NoMad Hotel in New York City. "UNFORGETTABLE." - Jimmy Fallon "Here to make magic COOL again." - Vanity Fair "This magician will blow your mind." - Town & Country
What a fabulous magical evening! Dan white was clever enough to create a wonderful virtual magic show that was as good as his performance at the Nomad Hotel. I loved that he mails everyone a black magic box that must sit unopened til the performance. The contents are all fun and mysterious, opened during the course of the evening. Dan is quite the Showman with an engaging personality and his magic is top notch!

UPDATE: Due to Covid 19, this show is on hold. ''flat-out miraculous''- The New York Times ''What a great idea for a show . . . so smart'' - Ira Glass ''a one-of-a-kind adventure'' - Atlas Obscura ''Terrific''- The Village Voice ''Very magical'' - Lev Grossman, author of The Magicians Sneak into a magic shop late at night. Discover its secret history. Sip champagne. Witness an unbelievable show. Every week in NYC.
Had a great night with my wife at this show. Having seen the Las Vegas productions of Penn&Teller and David Copperfield, for magic fans, this is much, much better. The show takes place in Tannen's Magic Shop in central Manhattan (near Macy's), with seats for about 15 people. Noah presents quite a few close up magic tricks, with audience participation for most (don't worry, nothing embarrassing!). The ticket price also includes a glass of Champagne (Veuve Clicque on the night I visited). Overall my favourite experience from my recent trip to NYC! Tip - Get there early to get a seat in the front row - you WONT be disappointed.

Winner of the 2014 & 2010 CMA/ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming, The Jazz Gallery has garnered a reputation as "the most imaginatively booked jazz club in New York" (NY Times). The Jazz Gallery was founded in 1995 by Dale Fitzgerald and renowned jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove who envisioned a hub and home for the jazz musicians and composers from around the world who come to New York to take part and enhance the city's vibrant cultural scene.

This place is a wonderful bar with a throwback/retro vibe. It's sharp and classy but relaxed and fun at the same time. Good cocktails and drinks, very good service. Their karaoke nights are fun - it is piano karaoke where there is a live piano player and you are provided the words to the song you want to sing. Unlike actual karaoke, the lyrics don't "move" (light up or appear) as you go, they are just the lyrics on an iPad, so you have to know the song somewhat to know when to sing or not sing. The crowd has a great time with this and everyone is very supportive of everyone else's efforts. The crowd was a good mix of young and middle aged and even some older folks. I felt more like I was in Los Angeles or even Las Vegas than NYC. While the place isn't what I'd call "big" it does seem much roomier than most NY bars, I never felt cramped or crowded in any part of the bar. I think that also contributed to it feeling more like LA or LV than NY. I'm planning on returning and using this place as a go-to when I am not sure where I want to go or take friends. It has enough charm and class that even on a night where there isn't karaoke or live music it is fun and comfortable while not being a dive like so many other bars feel.
