Vietnam's bustling largest city sets the cultural and economic pace for the country. The former Saigon boasts charming French colonial architecture and wide boulevards, usually thronged and choked with traffic. Taxis are an option for seeing the sprawling city. The War Remnants Museum shows the Vietnam War through Vietnamese eyes. Don't miss the impressive Jade Emperor Pagoda. Go to the frenetic Ben Thanh Market for food, flowers or frogs. Tour through the Mekong Delta, past rice paddies and houseboats.

We walked to the Catholic Church for Sunday Mass but it took longer than what Mr Google said from our hotel but we allowed ourselves an hour and it took us 1/2 hour from our hotel Silverland Central next to the Ben Thanh Markets. There was seating in the church grounds for us to rest and wait for the next Mass. The church is surrounded by a big wall but once inside a peaceful sanctuary with seating in the shade of the trees a beautiful Grotto to Our Lady of Lourdes was beautiful as was the 2 very small chapels. Grounds & gardens were immaculately kept. Mass was in Vietnamese as we had missed the English Mass. Mass was beautiful along with the choir. The architecture inside the church is stunning.

This place is temporarily closed. This French-built cathedral occupies scenic Paris Square in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.
I visited this cathedral at evening and it was under renovation activity , and couldnt check in , the exterior or the cathedral is a perfect example of Gothic architecture in Saigon , you can visit the Heritage building of Saign Post office with french colonial architecture, still in use today. The tiny garden in front of the cathedral adds elegant to this marvelous red building.
