Thank you to tripadvisor for leading us to this ampitheatre. And as one reviewer stated it is a "hidden gem." There were locals from the San Diego area and everyone was smiling and friendly. The venue holds 900 people. Parking is free a short walk from the amiptheatre. We found discounted tickets on line. We weren't aware the orchestra has assigned seating, and so we arrived at 5:30 p.m., assuming seats were first come first serve. We bought orchestra seats. Our seats were excellent. Some of the orchestra seats have a concrete berm in front of the seats, for ones picnic basket. This doesn't hinder the leg space, as there is plenty of room between the rows. Make sure to bring a seat cushion as the seats are hard and cold. If you purchase the seats on the grass, the theatre provides low folding chairs. If you have difficulty getting up from a squatting position you should buy orchestra seats. We ate dinner at the small cafe before the show, though many people had brought picnic dinners. The food was good, but pricey. It was a chilly moonlight night. We watched the DooWop Project, which was a lot of fun. We have been at many ampitheatres throughout the country, and this is one of my favorites.
