Take a step back in time, when things were a little more relaxed, when pioneering men and women of the 19th century succeeded in taming this wild Mallee landscape. Your self-guided tour among an enormous collection of working tractors and machinery; homes, cottages, and displays will entertain all ages. Feel the heat in the blacksmith shop, listen to the sounds of the old Pianola or take a ride through our Mallee township on a horse and carriage. Cruise the river aboard the historic PS Pyap or Join us as the sun goes down with the award-wining Laser Light Spectacular ‘Heartbeat of the Murray’. The first of its kind in the world to use a natural river environment and setting as its background to produce a 360-degree multi-media spectacular unlike anything ever seen in Australia.
We had a lovely stroll around the tourist park, taking us back in time! The blacksmith was amusing and well skilled with the horse shoe. Our highlights were the paddle steamer ride on the Murray river and the light show at night was well worth the extra money.

Andrew Peace wines is a family owned winery and vineyard located on the banks of the Murray River in PIangil 41km north of Swan Hill on the Murray Valley Highway. Cellar door sales and tastings are open on weekdays and Saturday afternoons. With great coffee and ample parking for caravans we also have a wonderful picnic area.
Indulged in a tour and tasting last week with "1895 the royal" hotel crew and was thoroughly impressed with the operation and quality of this business, not to mention the outstanding selection of local wines.staff were friendly and proffessional whilst down to earth and most welcoming.Their Pinots are to die for and anyone visiting the Swan Hill area should definately indulge.cheers.

Set on the banks of the Little Murray River, the world-class Heartbeat of the Murray is a 360-degree multi-media spectacular unlike anything ever seen in Australia. Using water, light, laser, sound and special effects to tell the story of the Murray, you’ll be transported back 30 million years, before travelling forward through time to the Murray River as we know it today. This state-of-the-art show is the first of its kind in the world to use a natural river environment and setting as the background. The Heartbeat of the Murray laser light show has been made possible thanks to funding from the Federal and State governments, and Swan Hill Rural City Council.
We purchased the 3 in 1 family pass for the museum, cruise and show and were very happy with it. The show was amazing, the use of the water and lights was stunning. The history component was good, and although the show itself only goes for about 30min, it goes through enough local history without dragging on. A good amount of time for kids to sit through. Walking through the settlement after dark was magical and the kids loved it. A def must if you are visiting Swan Hill!

The kids and I visited the Art Gallery yesterday. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a very friendly and informative lady. The three art exhibits on display were all exceptional and interesting in there own way.
