What a great little place. Drinking craft beer by the river, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and nibbling on fried pork & french fries is a must! The best was that Khun Chit was there behind the bar greeting and serving customers with the famous Thai smile. We asked for beer tastings and we got the lot. In my opinion, on the day the winner beer for me was Good Man Pale Ale. But I have to say the stout and the red cider were good too. They even had wines (small bottle BTH 80) of red or white in the fridge. The place is child friendly too as we saw some locals with their young families. Recommended for a lazy afternoon weekend drinking super cold beers and listening live music. Can you believe you can get all of this in Bangkok?

Just revisited Wat Pho with its beautiful reclining Buddha right after the lockdown and before foreign tourists are allowed. The grounds were beautiful which I fully enjoyed without the usual crowds.

The playground located up near the movie theaters was massive and so great for the kids! There are usually cool promotional things to do around the mall, too!

There are many local fresh markets in and around Bangkok but after 25 years living here I have found the Nonthaburi market to be my favorite / two reasons - it is easy to reach by the river express boat and it is in walking distance of a very beautiful park just across the river - yes I could give you a third reason - one of the most real thai restaurants on the river ; river tree house is a 10 minute taxi ride away - and Koh Kret is just a 10 minute boat ride - a great way to see real Thailand ????????

Bus 32 from democracy monument will take you there for less tan 20baht but your bum would probably give out. We took the river ferry to Nothaburri , end of the line north 15baht and connected to the bus there. Walk straight up th main street from the ferry to bus stop . Catch 32 bus for I think 9baht and tell the conductor, have Koh Kret written down in thai or show your phone as it is not the end of the line. Ask around when you get off and you will be directed down a side street to a temple , walk through the temple to the ferry. If it's weekend there are plenty of people to follow. Ferry across to the island is 6baht. This trip is not for the faint hearted. The bus is not aircon. Tip ... before you set out ask the staff at your hotel to write your destination in thai for you.
