Rainbow River Canoe and Kayak is located at the end of the Rainbow River on the Withlacoochee River. Park your car and ride our upriver shuttle to the paddling destination of your choice. On either river, you float downstream back to your car. We offer the largest selection of canoes and kayaks in the area, Old Town Canoes and 'sit-in' Kayaks and Ocean Kayak 'sit-on-tops'.

Guided boat tours from Stumpknockers restaurant on Hwy 200 Just outside of Ocala, Florida. Please call for directions. Do not rely on GPS etc. Best days Tuesday- Thursday with less boat traffic. March- May is very busy so I recommend calling a few days in advance.

Despite being 30 feet deep in some places, it feels like you could reach out and touch the bottom since the water is crystal clear. My husband and I took a 2 hour tubing trek via the state park. Living in FL, we all know that fresh water is a no go, due to the alligators that make their homes in the tall reeds. While the bottom of the river looks like it would be home to gators, the cool 72 degree water, year around, and the constant parade of people on the river make alligators a nonissue. This was so surprising to me and I was thrilled to find such a place, even with it being three hours north of where we live. We saw a fish or two and a turtle during our journey down the river. The houses on the river reminded me of something from a movie out of the 70's. Children play on the river and the residents like to sit outside and relax. A time long forgotten. It was so relaxing and something that everyone must try! We can't wait to go back.

Park With Beach And Restrooms For Entering Rainbow River
Used the boat to take us toward the headsprings. The captain was wildy entertaining and knowledgeable about the area. We entered and did a drift dive back. Explored some vents grassy areas and performed the safety skills needed to complete certification. It is a very enjoyable dive I'd recommend staying on the left side of the river so you don't miss the deepest part. It was fun!!! The facilities at the park were adequate and exiting on the boat ramp made getting out with our gear on easier. While diving we saw lots of fish, bass, gar and tons of small fish, turtles (and baby turtles) and anhingas.

This park is reasonably priced to visit at $2 per person, the grounds are impeccable, there are flowers blooming everywhere, the falls are crystal clear and offer great photo ops, the blue-green water at the swimming area and the river itself is supreme plus ample free parking. The varied azaleas are blooming with lots of buds yet to open. The Camellia are beautiful and enjoyable to see. Rainbow Springs State Park is.....Delightful. What an awesome experience under Florida's blue, blue sky.
