Babbs Mill Lake

This really is a little gem. A beautiful lake and nature reserve. We had a lovely walk around the trail and have also visited for a bat watching tour organised by Solihull MBC. This was amazing as within minutes of being handed our bat detectors it felt like we were surrounded by them. Definitely worth joining an organised tour.

Moseley Park and Pool

Moseley is a fantastic part of Birmingham with its farmers and arts markets, but what makes it particularly special and unique is having at its centre, the Park and Pool. This historic park, with some 300 years of history, is run by a charitable trust. The Park was originally a major part of the gardens of the Moseley Hall estate which were designed by the famous landscape gardener Humphry Repton.

We came to Moseley Park and Pool as part of Birmingham Heritage Week 2020. Not normally open to the public, it is a lovely place with huge grassy areas, trees and a large pond with abundant wildlife - many different bird species, and large fish could be clearly seen in the pool.

Edgbaston Reservoir

Reviewed By MrsLMS2014 - Birmingham, United Kingdom

Adore this place. It needs to be treasured. We are lucky to have such an oasis of nature and historic significance in the heart of the city. It is a clean, safe and beautiful retreat which we make use of regularly in our week to cycle, run and walk around. Thank you to the park rangers for all their hard work. We enjoy so much wildlife and nature including various species of bat, water foul and birds. When the swifts arrive the reservoir is breathtaking. Having the new path and the restricted access to the car park has made a dramatic and positive difference to the visitors experience. I love this location and hope it can be maintained in the way it is being currently.

Coventry Canal Basin

Reviewed By EmilieJ794 - Coventry, United Kingdom

The Basin offers a very pleasant walk along the canal side. There's a few really good food shops - don't miss the nattas from the Portuguese one! There's a good little cafe that offers take-away service and a small garden area to walk around. On heritage/fete days there is a fantastic model railway exhibition and The Coventrian canal boat which offers short trips. There is also a canoe/kayaking club. There is an iconic statue of James Brindley known as the 'father of the British canal system'.
