Watch a sunset from our roof-walk with a glass of wine in hand and savor the panorama of the town and harbor. Enjoy a bountiful continental breakfast, featuring our famous granola and scones, and come home to our homemade afternoon treats! Mother Daughter Getaway

Reviewed By emilycZ3581GB

I look my mom to Nantucket for a belated Mother's Day trip and we loved both the island and our stay at the Martin House. The location is perfect - close enough to town to easily navigate your suitcases from the ferry and a street or two away from the action for tranquility. There's even covered parking for your bikes under the house. An advantage of the Martin House versus what I noticed from other nearby B&Bs when I went to book is that the Martin House has some rooms with twin beds. My mother and I sure appreciated each having our own bed without having to book two rooms. Cindy was wonderful in giving us pointers for the best lobster rolls (Walters!) and quite the baker. Her cinnamon scones one more for breakfast were so delicious that I may have smuggled one onto the evening ferry back to the mainland.

Historic rooms all about location

You are paying for location with this place. Smack dab in the middle of it all. Walk to everywhere. You are literally on a dock. When you step out of room you are staring at beautiful boats docked at the basin. I'm assuming these places are historic and have been around a while. Floors slanting. Just feels like 1800's kinda place. I would guess its ranked as 3 star hotel. Everything just SMALL and tight. We had a 2 bedroom and I think paid like $1500 a night. Interior decor felt pretty basic. Bathroom is TINY. If we were larger people we couldn't fit in it. But again, these are old places and thats how they were built back then so come with proper expectations. Giving it 4 star due to location which cannot be beat!!!!!

Perfect Stop

Just stayed at the Periwinkle for two nights. It spoiled me. Best nights sleep I've had in a while. Very comfortable beds, awesome and friendly staff. And the mid day fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were to die for. Old inn with tons of charm. I recommend a room with private bath although the common area wash rooms were spotless as well. Met and chatted with a few older gents who were visiting their brother on Island. Had a great conversation in the kitchen area and a few hearty laughs. Perfect stay for a short work trip. Will be back.

Great location, still working out some wrinkles

Reviewed By JoeKupe

Prefacing this by saying we stayed at two places on our most recent trip to Nantucket and Greydon House has the potential to move up to a four or a five once it buttons up a few more things. Walking from the high-speed ferry we were thrilled to reach Greydon House so quickly. Check in was quick and our room was ready early and we were off to explore after checking in. The next morning we were expecting the coffee to be ready by 7:00 as told, it was closer to 7:25 when it was ready. Also our air conditioning/thermostat was not working and we let them know so they could work on it while we were gone this next day. Long story short it took way longer than expected and the work was not what we would have expected in a top notch hotel in Nantucket. It did eventually get fixed this same day. We brought up the scenario to GM Garison and he did make an adjustment for us. Garison has a world of high end hotel experience and we wish him the best in the continuing reimagining of the Greydon House. There is no common area and a small porch, so no breakfast offered and if the two porch chairs are in use there is no where else outside of your room to relax and chill. A well known Italian restaurant is connected to Greydon House, our suggestion is to host a continental breakfast there 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and then leave a portion of it as a gathering space until a few hours before the restaurant opens. They are trying for sure and this is what counts as I expect the experience to continue to improve.
