Laurel Point is an exceptional property and wonderful experience. Located just 4 miles away from Monterey the cabins are secluded which gives the best of both worlds...easy access to amenities and complete privacy during your stay. Their is a common patio adjacent to Lorraine and Jim's home which is intended for all guests and provides wifi (no internet in the cabins.) The long distance view from the patio is spectacular. You have to see it to believe it. Lorraine and Jim developed their large property from scratch; was impressed by the quality and thought put into every decision. This is a great place to stay especially for those who love nature. Look forward to returning in the future.

The room, location and amenities were all lovely, but because we were there for a funeral of a dear friend, the best part for me and my family was Ms. Betty herself. She stayed up late to meet us after a long trip from Florida, fixed us hot tea and delicious breakfasts and saw us off at 4 AM a couple of days later when we had to leave. In addition, she packed up and mailed me my glasses and phone charger i had carelessly left as we rushed out so early on departure day. I would highly recommend staying at Arbogast Inn - such a great stately old home in that beautiful region of the mountains. The wild flowers as well as Ms Betty’s flowers around the property were gorgeous the end of July, and just driving around the lush cool mountains was a delight. We will definitely return.

We had trout almandine, pork loin with apple cider sauce, chicken divan and chicken with pecan crust. All good. Save room for Maple Pecan pie a la mode. The service was friendly and efficient. The bar carries the excellent local Big Fish cider. We’ll be back.

We enjoyed a fall weekend in the Virginia Highlands topped off by a stay at Cherry Hill. Linda is a gracious hostess. Our room was large and comfortable. The shower was great with lots of hot water. The breakfasts were delicious featuring locally sourced goods highlighted by the local maple syrup. Monterey is a charming village nestled in the Allegheny mountains near the Virginia/West Virginia border.

We stayed in the Spruce Room over Easter weekend. Very clean and comfortable. Monterey is a quiet, picturesque location. We spent one day touring Warm Springs and bathing at the Jefferson Pools. The other day was driving thru Blue Grass Valley.

The Montvallee is a vintage 1950's Motel located in the historic and picturesque town of Monterey Virginia, county seat of Highland County. The Montvallee is a reasonable and restful place to explore the rural attractions of Virginia's Western Highlands.
A vintage hotel. Probably great in it's day. The owner was friendly. Everything worked ok. Limited tv reception. But if in need of a place to stay this hotel served us well. The hotel also had an interesting library in the office.

I found the BB on line and I had researched many places in Damascus, VA and around the area. When I was on the phone with the owner, the place sounded great! We arrived late afternoon and were welcomed! The kids loved the house and ran around the yard and some even played the piano. The rooms were perfect for our two families with kids. The breakfast's both mornings were excited! I would just go back to have the home cooked food. The BB is in a great location and perfect for our bike ride trip. The couple's husband was great and very handy.
