Gan-Garoo Australian Park - a unique attraction containing wildlife and vegetation from far-off Australia. Gan-Garoo is home to free-roaming kangaroos of various types that you can pet and hand-feed; a parrot sanctuary where you can feed the birds from juicy fruit skewers. In the zoo's Australian farm you'll encounter farm animals characteristic of the Australian continent. There are petting corners where mini-goats are fed and groomed plus an assortment of other interesting animals - adorable koalas, cassowary, emu, flying foxes, reptiles and more...
Amazing Australian park, plenty of kangaroos, goats, birds and other Australian animals, you can pet and feed kangaroos, make sure to bring small change - the food dispenser machines are accepting only 1 shekel coins. Arriving in the morning you will ensure that the kangaroos and still hungry and less sleepy (they won't eat once full, and usually nap after lunch).

The Monkey Forest is a 10-acre wildlife refuge situated in the natural oak forest of Moshav Yodfat. The Yodfat Monkey Forest has harbored a troop of squirrel monkeys since 1976, as well as rescuing and providing a life-long home for animals that have been subjected to deprivation or neglect. Our goal is to provide our animals a life of dignity and respect and instill a love of wildlife and nature in our visitors.
Monkeys, especially free in nature, are not a common view in Israel. In fact, you can't see them at all in Israel free except in the Monkey Forest in Yodfat. Yodfat is the ancient Hebrew name of the last strongholds of the Jewish rebellion against the ancient empire of Rome. The Romans eventually destroyed the ancient town of Yodfat, and it was founded again as a beautiful village in modern Israel, about more than 1900 years after its destruction, right in the middle of the Galilee, very close to the ruins of the barrow of the ancient stronghold. So, visiting the Monkey Forest gives you an opportunity to see the relics of one of the biggest human dramas that happened in history. The forest itself is lively and full of life. It is not very big, but rich with various species of small monkeys. That means you don't have to worry that a gorilla or a huge orangutan will bite your child or you. The little delicate monkeys have been trained to sit on your shoulder while you are feeding them. Don't bring food with you - their diet is special and their health is meticulously monitored. You can buy their special food at the entrance. Very nice for young children as well as for older children whom we have been told to call adults.

We went with our young grandchildren and had a grand time. It felt like a little paradise, with lush greenery and birds of many feathers :-), including pelicans, geese, ducks and peacocks...also an ostrich, smaller and huge turtles (tortoises), goats, sheep, bunnies to pet...We thoroughly enjoyed. And the price is right - only 10 shekel per person and kid over the age of 2. It is a jewel of a place, tucked away just a few blocks from a Nahariya beach. There is also, right across ftom the beach, a huge playground with many structures, swings, etc. called גיל לכל גיל. So if you do this trip, it could include all 3 activities: about 1 and 1/2 hours at the botanical gardens/zoo, and then on to this special playground and the beach.Enjoy!
