Nelson’s thriving arts and music scene has helped to establish it as a destination for free spirits and art-lovers. Festivals, studios, galleries, craft markets… Every cranny of this South Island city seems to buzz with artistic energy. Lord of the Rings fans will flip for the Jens Hansen workshop in Trafalgar Square—Hansen is the goldsmith who designed the “precious” guarded by Frodo in the LOTR films.

Greenhough is one of Nelson’s longest established cellars. A colourful, bespoke, tiled entry floor by local ceramic artist Steve Fullmer, opens to a spacious tasting room and courtyard overlooking the Hope Vineyard and Barnicoat Range beyond. Meet the people who make these certified organic wines and taste limited older vintages. We can arrange delivery to your door within NZ and overseas.

The story of Beth Eggers and Himmelsfeld Vineyard is one of faith, family, history and determination. Beth's main point of difference is having aged NZ wines for sale, she takes the time to cellar them anything from four to six years before releasing. Truly boutique, with just three acres of vines, one each of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon, Himmelsfeld is a must to visit and taste unique NZ wines.
I've been here 4 times and will be back again soon. This is a unique experience. The only place I know where I have to negotiate for more wine than Beth wants to sell to me! Love the place, and love the whole premise of why this place exists. I even enjoy the fact that sometimes I arrive and there is no one there. it is what it is, enjoy.

Tucked away just off the state highway, you’ll find our winery and cellar door. It’s the perfect place to take some time out, enjoy some wine, and take in the view across the plains. “You will feel at home at the spacious cellar door. There is an unpretentious, helpful and enjoyable approach to wine tasting here. These seriously made wines show clarity, purity and detail." Cuisine Magazine
Cycled to this winery from out base in Richmond which was a very pleasant ride. We had a very good wine tasting session, trying 7 wines in total. The lady hosting us was very friendly and informative. This was a very relaxing and enjoyable tasting - with a very good selection of wines..... And could not resist buying a couple of bottles.
