The Official Daufuskie Island Ferry is delightful, enjoyable, and comfortable. During the 40 minute ride you will see dauphins, seabirds and lovely shoreline vistas. The yacht-like ferry features a spacious outside deck and a comfortable teak-lined climate-controlled cabin. It runs on a fixed daily schedule, rain or shine. Daily parking is free. There is no charge for carry-on luggage/bags/coolers/bicycles which passengers carry-on themselves. Children 5 years old and younger ride for free. Tickets can be purchased on-line from the ferry website or by credit card when boarding the ferry. The ferry leaves from Buckingham Landing at the foot of the Hilton Head bridge on the Bluffton side. Reservations are encouraged. Captain Richard Inglis is accommodating and professional and his crew is exceptionally helpful.

The ferry to and from Daufuskie Island was quick, easy ride and the team offered great customer service! We missed the last boat over on Saturday due to several traffic issues in Florida, and the team set us up with a water taxi (additional cost) but credited the cost of the ferry ride, which they were not obligated to do.

If doing a day trip be sure to buy tickets at the visitor center and don’t just show up to the ferry address on the website. Ride is 45 min at 35.00 per person. Boat has comfortable seating and a restroom.

I have had numerous excellent experiences with Yellow Transportation on Hilton Head. They are always on time and professional. I rode with them recently and the driver informed me they are now also offering ParaTransit rides. Great company and great staff!
