Tucked in a lovely valley between the Rhine River and the Taunus Mountains, Hesse's capital of Wiesbaden has long been an important spa city, dating back to Roman times when it was called Aquae Mattiacorum. In the 19th century, Wiesbaden also became a popular gambling center. For a soothing plunge, try the famous Kaiser Friedrich's Therme in the city center. And don't miss the Schlossplatz (Palace Square) and impressive Kurhaus Wiesbaden event and conference center, both within a few blocks.

We loved this food tour, it was one of our favorite activities in Berlin! Since it was just our group Liz was able to customize it to our liking. She took us to some of her favorite spots, places we never would have found on our own. We felt like locals and oh man was the food delicious! Liz was very entertaining and charming and even helped us navigate our way to our next activity. We loved every minute of the food tour and highly recommend Liz!

After the end of the Second World War, several divisions of the US Army were permanently stationed in West Germany. At the time of the Cold War, there were constantly more than 200,000 US soldiers. For taking a trip into your past, this tour is just perfect for you! Heidelberg is the ideal starting point for such a trip, as the majority of the US troops were stationed within a radius of just 50 miles around Heidelberg. If you go to "What To Expect" you may find more than 130 relevant sites including the names of barracks and other US facilities. The name of my boutique-style chauffeur and limousine service is "a friend in heidelberg". Many guests of mine told me that this very name is the perfect choice. I was not only born in the famous historical city of Heidelberg and know the area extremely well, but also lived and worked in the US and hence speak fluent English. If you wish I can help you with the organization of your trip ahead of time. You will be chauffeured in a Mercedes S-Class, virtually a private jet for the road, equipped with all state-of-the-art features.
