We visited here when staying at Solway holiday village after seeing it as a top 5 thing to do in Silloth. The opening hours are different from advertised . They are 1-4 at weekends .i was very pleased with visit. My sons loved it. We weren’t in long and one way sign are in place . This was such a delightful museum and free entry too. The boys bought a soldier for £1 each. I’d highly recommend visiting if in the area to this well loved display of toy soldiers . It is a small museum so no toilets , however toilets are across road ( closed due to restrictions at present) but open toilets are at promenade beyond amusements and play park.

Silloth Green is recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the UK's very best green spaces. It boasts a modern Water Splash play area, a Woodland Adventure play area, Pirate Ship play area for 0-5 year olds, a BMX track, a Putting Green, Fairy Trail and various award winning gardens. A number of popular events are held during the year which are well worth a visit.
Loved the toddler pirate ship play area and wish we had something like this where I live! Surrounded by the fairy gardens and with the amusements and fair ground rides nearby it makes a magical afternoon for a 2 year old. We discovered you couldn’t walk to the west beach and needed to drive through the dock and park there to find the sand- this is something I would want to know beforehand.

What an amazing rescue centre this is. This is packed with rescued creatures from pigs to ponies, bulls to swans. All cared for by Mel and her volunteers. I have never seen so many injured creatures all living side by side, well loved. There is a huge array of secondhand books and bric a brac and a remembrance garden for lost pets is being created, all by this brilliant charity. Well worth supporting.
