Once you taste chocolate from Juan Carlos and Maria you will never go back to supermarket £2 bar of chocolate. The flavour is so rich and intense and stays on your palate incredibly long time. We saw whole process of making chocolate from growing the fruit, fermentation, roasting and processing the cocoa nibs (which you can actually try yourself). Before going to the plantation make sure that you cover yourself in repellent wherever your skin is exposed because local mosquitoes are thirsty and have no mercy. Great experience and highly recommended stop on your journey.

La Garza de sol ecological farm is a familiar project, managed by local pioneers, which has lived and struggled for success in a beautiful but hard environment. The property is located at the foot of the Tenorio volcano which makes the place full of biodiversity, with frogs, colorful birds and exuberant flora.
We stopped here randomly after our tour in the Tenorio National Park (very close) and asked about the tours available, and embarked 10 minutes later (he came especially for us) on a nearly 2-hour tour in English with Kenneth, just the two of us with him!! We really enjoyed ourselves, talked about plants, animals, got to see sloths and tucans, tasted wild oranges, then got back and crushed sugar cane into a delicious juice :) Great tour! Then we enjoyed our meal with fresh fruit drinks !

Malécu Tarche Yuja Cultural Center was born as an idea to publicize the Malécu Indigenous Culture. Malecu is an indigenous culture that struggles to keep its customs and language traditions alive. Our services, 1- walk trail medicinal plants, 2- typical Malecu food, 3- History of Malecu culture, 4- Malecu theater presentation in Malecu language and traditional dress. Etc.
