Far away from the mainstream, crossing rosty panzer/tanks from 1st worldwar, driving on small, curvy, stony road you finally will reach the modern winery. it‘s worth the effort! Family owned winery, the father sympathic winemaker with „humour“, the mother taking care of the cash, the daughter on the starting blocs to take over the responsability, an authentic family business. Absolute great variety of white/red wines. Attractive prices, top quality. New: Wine matured in amphores (the Gregorian way)

Located at the foot of the village of Rasteau between the towns of Orange and Vaison-la-Romaine, Domaine Beau Mistral is comprised of 28 hectares (70 acres) covering several appellations from the southern Rhône Valley and is rightly situated next to such famous crus from the region such as Châteauneuf du Pape and Gigondas. With the experience of several generations of winemaking under his belt, Jean-Marc Brun took the leap to begin making wine in 1999 with one goal in mind: to make wines that reflected his personality and tastes, and which celebrated the famous Provençal wind le Mistral through his labels. Hence, Domaine Beau Mistral was born. From the beginning, Jean-Marc has been treating his vineyard and winemaking with the utmost attention and care.

The village of Rasteau is ideally situated in Provence, just a stone throw away from Vaison-la-Romaine, at the heart of the southern Côtes du Rhône.It is dominated by the Mount Ventoux, the Prealps and the majestic Dentelles de Montmirail. This topographic diversity provides a multi-faceted land and a unique terroir, which explains how this typical village with ancestral history and patrimony has developed such strong winemaking tradition since the mid-1920s.Created in 1925, the Cave de Rasteau first became famous for its Grenache-based Vin Doux Naturel (fortified wine). The ORTAS wine range today offers a large array of wines, from Rasteau reds, Rasteau Vins Doux Naturels, Côtes du Rhône Villages and Côtes du Rhône régionaux.
