Man oh man if 91 octane courses through your veins this is a form of racing you have to experience. Been many times, a meal at the Big Burger then on to the races. Different classes from the ministocks, a hoot, to the winged warriors. those beasts can wheelie on the hard packed dirt track. You cna by a ride in a two seat version of the monsters, haven't worked up the nerve to go for it yet. mywife keeks saying no.

A local elder/friend took me here when I asked to stop and see some local crafts. Wow! I was blown away when I walked in! Carvings, jewelry, artwork, even healing herbal teas... and more. If you are in the area definitely stop in. Only had a few minutes but I found several items for gifts to take home.

After all the press we hear, I travelled to the Six Nations reserve. I found women, crafts, and beauty in the shops. I found pelts, and beads, elements of the earth. I met a women making cornhusk dolls, which now hangs on my front door. Worth the trip, and left feeling more connected to the foundations of our great Canada.

Chiefswood National Historic Site was built in 1853-1856 by Mohawk Chief George Johnson as a wedding present for his English bridge Emily Howells. The home tells the story of two cultures. Childhood home of famous poet E. Pauline Johnson. Pauline used her dual culture and the surroundings around her home to inspire her poetry. The home is now a museum which can be visited during tour season (May long weekend-October Thanksgiving weekend). The museum also hosts special events that can be found on the website or Facebook page. Tours can be booked during the off season. Look for our educational programming on our website as well!
