Beautiful fall foliage, great hiking, history, lots to do. We go back every year and never regret it. It looks like they're starting to offer more activities such as boat rental on the lake. Been going for 10+ years and never had that option before. Glad to see they are starting to take advantage of their assets!

Loved the story behind this place. Very unique to ride in a boat through a cave. Guide was great. There's a very steep grade to walk down to get to the cavern which could be hard on people who have issues walking. We had a...MoreWe are so glad that you enjoyed the boat tour. The hill is very steep, but the trip is unforgettable! Hope to see you again soon.

This is right inside the entrance of Spring Mill State Park, so the memorial has no cost, but the State Park has a minimal cost.
This is a fairly small building but lots of items from his life & is quite interesting.
The space capsule is very neat to be able to see & see inside it especially!!
It covers pretty much his entire life (even back to grade school report cards).
There is a video at the end that we didn't stay all the way through.
If you're one who reads all the plaques, it might be an hour to 90 min to go through, other wise, you can see everything in about 20-30 min...but it is quite interesting with lots of history.

Decided to take a trip to this off the beaten track winery because it was too rainy to set up camp until the rain ended. Trip Advisor's directions took us to their old location on St. Rt. 60. Meandered the backcountry and were so glad we did. Spent an hour and a half visiting with Sue and sampling the wines available. Very surprised that a winery in southern Indiana would offer me anything I'd like. I left with 3 bottles and a wonderful time!

The group that saved Gus Grissom's home from demolition and is slowly restoring it to its mid-20th century state is to be commended. Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom was one of America's original seven astronauts and might have been the first man on the moon had he not tragically perished in the Apollo 1 fire in 1967. The family and community of Mitchell has gathered as much of the original furnishings as it can, and you can see some of the furniture Gus grew up with. Planted outside is a sycamore tree from seeds that fellow Hoosier astronaut Charlie Walker brought back from space in Gus's honor. This is as much a monument to mid-century American pride as it is to Gus, and it is not to be missed. Ad Astra, Gus!

A REAL, and active, haunted house in Southern Indiana. Built in 1894, this house is home to ~2 dozen ghosts/spirits, many of whom we patients/victims of the doctor that ran his medical practice from the 1st floor for 26 years. The most recent deaths in the house is of a father in 1966 and his special needs boy in 1974. It has been featured on multiple TV paranormal specials, and was rated at "4th Most Terrifying Place in America" (Travel Channel, October 2010).Services we offer range from flashlight tours (1hr) and mini-[paranormal] investigations (2-3hrs), to full overnight paranormal investigations (10hrs).
I have been to this location numerous times and have always had an amazing time. The owner is excellent to work with. The paranormal activities range from audible voices, shadow figures, objects moving, knocks, and many other things. I would recommend this place over and over again.
