Centuries ago, the sundial above the Mauterndorf castle gate greeted merchants, scoundrels and travelers on their way through the Lungau region. The portal where passing traders once heard the words: “Open your bag and pay the toll” is now the gate leading visitors right back to Middle Ages. Our opening hours: Winter: January 2 - 30 (Tue, Thur) 10.00 am - 6.00 pm February 3 - 28 (Mon - Fri) 10.00 am - 6.00 pm March 3 - April 2 (Tue, Thur) 10.00 am - 6.00 pm April 6 - 14 (daily) 10.00 am - 6.00 pm Summer: May 1 - October 31 (daily) May, June, September, October 10.00 am - 6.00 pm July, August 9.30 am - 6.30 pm

spent here 3 days. it was out of main season so the slopes were not packed as in other more famous places. for a 3 days ski trip this is a great spot. more than enough slopes, good snow conditions, slopes are well prepared. and the village Mauterndorf next to the slopes is beautiful. recommendable.
