I am proud of Longview for constructing this pretty walking and exercising park. It posts information on the native inhabitants, which would interest children and adults. The trees and fauna are beautiful, and it features wooden bridges over a quaint little creek.
It is not far from my house, but it stretches from Hwy 80 to the west loop.
My only hope and concern is that businesses are not going to be constructive along the road in front of the trails. That would make me so sad to see these beautiful trees cut down, and would certainly detract from the serenity of this wonderful park.

The Gregg County Historical Museum is a rambling, and interesting through the history of Gregg County and northeast Texas. Artifacts and exhibits take you back in time to observe the history and culture of the Piney Woods from the pre-Columbian Caddo confederation through the French and Spanish exploration, Mexican statehood, the Republic of Texas and the State of Texas. Each month has some kind of focused exhibition or theme, so there's always something new.

Although enticed by the artist's Blue Dog paintings, I was excited to learn of George Rodrigue's artwork depicting his roots in the Cajun bayous of south Louisiana! Our city of Longview is blessed to have such a fine museum in our midst.

Highly worth a stop if you have kiddos! The playground is HUGE, with things for all ages including wheelchair ramps. The park is a gem of the city.

The Greggton Antique Mall is one of the largest (7,000 square feet) and oldest (since 1992) antique malls in east Texas. There are over 30 of the best dealers anywhere who offer a fantastic variety of antiques and vintage collectibles that include furniture, jewelry, art, glassware, ceramics and pottery, toys, signs, and much more. All at reasonable prices. Our Military Marketplace is the largest display of military memorabilia and artifacts in East Texas. Here you can find everything from medals, photographs, letters, trench-art, bayonets, uniforms and more from different wars. It is a free museum featuring items for sale as well as special exhibits honoring WWI & WWII veterans and is a favorite place for many visitors, especially veterans. WE ACCEPT DEBIT AND MAJOR CREDIT CARDS.
The Greggton Antique Mall is located in an older building along Marshall Avenue on the west side of Longview. Marshall Avenue is also historic US 80, which was the main highway between Shreveport and Dallas before I - 20 was built. Many old businesses line Marshall Avenue for about 5 miles as it passes through Longview. This part of Longview is known as Greggton, hence the name for the mall. The building is a few blocks east of Loop 281, on the south side of Marshall Avenue. There are just a few parking spaces in front of the building. With all that being said, this is an interesting antique store. The ladies in front are friendly, and they encouraged me to wander around and look at what was being offered for sale. It's a bit like a maze inside, with several side rooms, all packed with items. In the back, in the southeast side of the building, is a military museum of sorts. Various memorabilia provided by US military veterans and their families are on display. Uniforms, weapons, photos, books, etc., can be seen. Some items in that area are for sale, but not all. I found the Memoirs of President Truman for sale for only $5, which I thought was a bargain. The Greggton Antique Mall is worth a visit, just to see the many antiques that are being offered for sale, but also to tour the military section in back. If you are visiting Longview, I also recommend stopping at Teague Park, on the east side of the city, and seeing the new memorials to US military veterans that have been erected there. Teague Park is just about a block or two south of East Marshall Avenue, about 4 miles east of the Greggton Antique Mall.
