this place is fantastic. Everything in my car went Sliding to the front when I Had to break the first time because of Quail Crossing the road. The next time it was a young Antelope buck who couldn't decide which way to leave the road because he had a group of antelope on either side.I counted hundred and 37 Antelope driving through that day divided among about seven groups

This is a small museum, but full of interesting artefacts of the original settlers in Oregon, including a special exhibition on Irish immigration to the area. Well worth a visit, and it's right next door to the Schminck Memorial Museum, if you're also thinking of going there too.

On the Oregon/California border off US Hwy 395.
We took our fifth wheel trailer down to Somerville, CA. to visit relatives, used the 395 route from Central Oregon. We were just at the border of Or. and Ca. and decided to take a break. There was an Oregon State Park called "Goose Lake RV Park". Just $22.00 a night with water hook up and electricity. The entrance before the gate had the black water and a fresh water facilities. So we used those before entering. I talked to the camp host and asked him some details of the park. He said they were all 20 amp hook ups but two were 30 amp. He said one 30 amp was available so I used it. The park has a walking trail, day use area and some kiosk data boards telling of the history of the lake. The lake is almost completely dry but according to the history it always has been. Nice park plenty of room for our lab to exercise. We enjoyed it so much we stopped there again on our way back from Ca.

Old Perpetual is the only geyser in the Pacific Northwest. It is located at Hunters hot springs resort where you can soak in a natural hotspring, sit by the fire or the geyser depending on the weather and enjoy a microbrew and a pizza.
Due to the low water table, the frequency was between 10-14 minutes. Still, was neat to see when it went off and watching the various birds in between was cute. Even saw a Mama duck with a whole train of ducklings behind her.
For the expert, a biking trail that winds and rolls through gorgeous scenery.
An isolated mountain well worth the trouble to explore.
