Komoka Railway Museum

The Komoka Railway Museum is housed in a restored 1912 station. A CN baggage car, GTW caboose, flag stop, CNR signal, and CNR Fairmount motor car sit proudly on display outside the station. A second, purpose-built building, houses the museum's centerpiece, a restored 1913 Shay logging engine. Both buildings have on display an extensive collection of railway artifacts, documents, and memorabilia.

Firerock Golf Club

The ghostly remnants of an exhausted sand and gravel operation on the outskirts of London, ON form the heart and soul of Southwestern Ontario’s most exciting public golf course. FireRock Golf Club - a dazzling Tom McBroom championship design - continues to take its spot among the best public golf facilities in the province in a private-like country setting.Framed by natural grasses and trees, captivating land forms and ragged handmade bunkers, this stunning course flows effortlessly over pastureland, across environmentally significant Savannah grasses and the Oxbow River valley, intertwining with existing gravel spoil piles. The challenging par-72 championship design (73 from the forward tees) measures 5,672-yards from the forward White tees, 6,279-yards from the Blues, 6,676-yards from the Gold tees and stretches back to a very demanding 7,183-yards from the tips. While many of McBroom’s masterpieces are at private clubs, FireRock offers a chance for the public player to experience a brilliant design at a reasonable price. The variety and challenge of the holes is designed for golfers of all skill levels. FireRock draws discriminating golfers from across Southwestern Ontario, the GTA, Niagara Region and Michigan.

We went to the Firerock Restaurant on a Wednesday evening and the wine was reasonable and good selection, the daily special was had by 2 and they raved about it and I had the Vindaloo and it was very good if a bit too spicy and the other person had the beef dip and raved about it too. Because it was a birthday celebration they gave the table a free desert - chocolate cheese cake and it was wonderful. Service good and lots of big tvs for the guys.

Family owned, family operated. Tim and Connie are simply the best. Always a warm welcome. Course always playable and in great shape. Great patio to enjoy a burger and brew after the round. Extremely reasonable rates and a very competitive membership. My home away from home.
