It is wasy to forget you are in the Cleveland metro area when you enter the woods, lakes, hills, and sheer cliffs of this huge reservation. Correct me if I'm wron, but I think only Brecksville is larger in area and I think Hinckley has more to see and do. It is of course best known for the annual return of the buzzard to their roost, but there is so much more. We were passed by a horse near Ledge Lake. Try that on the turnpike or even most city parks. There is also the much larger Hinckley Lake girdled by paved roads and an all surface biking/walking trail and, for the adventurous, the less known and visted Whipps Ledges area east of State Road. Proper footweat, caution around sheer drops, and good route finding skills are needed here as the nearly one mile Whipps Ledges loop trail and the section of the Buckeye Trail that runs through here are somewhat difficult to follow as blazes and trail signs are few and far between. A good rule of thumb is that if you don't find steps cut in the rocks or literally hit a rock wall you are probably off the trail. We hiked from the picnic and parking area at the bottom but it is probably easier to start from the top of the ledges parking lot and trail head.
