Trollkirka

Reviewed By goingwalkabout - Tonsberg, Norway

This is one of our favorite experiences form the summer 2020. A 400 meter ascent, other than that it was for the most part as easy trip up to the cave. It is so worth the effort. The main cave is about 70 meters with winding cave tunnel to a marble pool at the bottom of a 14 meter waterfall. This is really unique. Bring headlamps or flashlights, because it is pitch dark inside. Some places the tunnel is low, so mind your head. There are 3 caves and the lowest one is the main cave with the marble pool.

Jendemsfjellet

Jendemsfjellet (633 m.a.s.l.) is almost like a huge pyramid in the southern Fraena, and from the top there is a great view over large parts of the community and beyond to the ocean. Here you can see all the way to Ona Lighthouse! The special thing about this trip is that despite the fact that it is quite short, you get a real summit feeling when coming up. The tour is suitable for families, and does not require any extra special hiking equipment. Good sneakers or preferably hiking boots are recommended. How to get to the starting point? Local bus to Jendem from Molde, check with for updated schedules. Or drive by car to Jendem. Look for the local supermarked and the marked parking area. Tour description: Go up the forest road towards an old barn, then up the hill, where you turn right along a good forest path. The last part goes on a trail with some rocks/boulders. Fantastic views from the upper part of the trip!

Fiskevaeret Bjornsund

Bjørnsund is a deserted island with idyllic atmosphere. Around 1900 the population was 5-600. The houses, which "cling" to the islands and skerries have been restored and are now used as holiday houses. Popular place for school camps. Regular boat service from Harøysund in the summer season.
