Another superb Canadian National Park with wonderful lakes, mountains and breathtaking views, definitely worth taking the time to visit on a trip around the Rockies, AB or BC in general.

phenomenal variety of different poteet goods, especially mugs, plates and bowls. the intricate details on some of the mugs are phenomenal, an entire mountain landscape all carved and painted by hand. fair prices for high quality artisan pieces. love this place.

The Travel Alberta Field Visitor Information Centre is permanently closed. Please visit the Yoho National Park Visitor Information Centre in Field, B.C. from May long weekend to October long weekend for all your trip planning needs.
We popped into the information centre as we were staying locally in Field (Burgess Lookout Cabin) to get some info about local area and to just browse. The staff were very helpful in allowing us to us their phone to contact our next accommodation on our road trip (as our cell phones had no signal in Field). There was a great working model of the spiral tunnels and some interesting facts about the Burgess Fossils.

The best place to see Kicking Horse River, is where the Yoho River converges with Kicking Horse. You can do this on the way up to Takakkaw Falls. You can actually get right down to the rivers edge where the 2 rivers meet up. What is interesting is that Kicking Horse River is a murky, chalky colour and it merges with Yoho river which is pure clear glacier water..nature is so fascinating!!
