Prichard’s Distillery incorporated in 1997 with their award-winning aged American rum in hand. They opened their first distillery in 1999 in the historic Kelso, Tennessee schoolhouse. Five generations ago in 1822, Granddaddy Benjamin Prichard of Davidson County, TN left his still, tubs, utensils and techniques of the craft to his son Enoch. Suffice it to say that long before they became a “legal” distillers, the Prichard family was known to make the best whiskey in the area. When descendant Phil Prichard opened Prichard’s Distillery in Kelso, TN, he restored a lost art form. The Prichard family continues to produce some of the finest tasting rums and Tennessee whiskey in America. Prichard’s portfolio includes aged and flavored Rums, Tennessee whiskies and bourbons, bourbon liqueurs such as Sweet Lucy, Sweet Lucifer, and Sweet Lucy Bourbon Cream and decadent creams.
Twin with Jack Daniels - It's just a short drive. After visiting one of the largest distilleries go visit one of the small ones. In addition to whiskey, they also distill rum in the warmer months. They are not big enough to warm the molasses in the colder months!!
It's interesting listening to the process used - no different than Jack's.
These tours are free including tastings and that isn't all bad!!

I loved everything about this distillery. There was another group getting a tasting when we arrived. We just joined right in and saddled up. I preferred the Whiskey to the Moonshine but both were great. Lots of options to choose from. You could try multiple and even try a little more of something if you weren't quite sure what you wanted. The guide was fantastic. Very friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. I will be back!

Divides the county in half and is a great river for boats.
I internet searched canoe rentals outta Huntsville AL and this came up as 45 minutes away. It was a little longer than that but not an unpleasant drive as we weaved our way through tornado country to the parking lot adjacent their campground. Looks like the storms hit hard by all the torn apart trees, the weather was just perfect this Saturday before Memorial Day. I was a little irritated that no one returned my e-mails but I found the place to be very low tech upon arrival so I forgave them quickly. We waited in line for a good 30 minutes but once we paid we were soon on a van full of other folks getting dropped off with canoe rentals at Shiloh Bridge. Our trip was over an hour and cost about $17 a head, great for beginners. There was a bit of a bottleneck at the canoe launch site since it appears to be where half the state comes to put in their boats but it just added to the experience. The waters are slow and everything was super safe. We will be returning for sure. These guys could definitely improve their business some but they don't have to, demand is much greater than supply....at least today.

First, this park was very small. That was not an issue, it was just surprising because it had looked much bigger on the state travel website we looked at. The park includes a footbridge replicating a larger bridge that was one of only 6 of its architectural kind in America when Sherman's army marched over it during the Civil War. We were so glad that we had stopped at the county courthouse to read the information about the original bridge before seeing the replica. There was a pond with several ducks; duck food was available to feed the ducks. Our boys really enjoyed that. There was a small by well paved walking track around the property. There was also a little log cabin that promises a lovely garden in spring. There were no bathrooms available due to winter closure.

Thirty antique dealers and an ice cream parlor.
Fayetteville's Magnolia Mall on the square is a destination for lovers of fine antiques and contemporary design. This is not your average antique mall. Many of the antique furniture pieces are from Europe, many items are hand made by expert craftsmen, and the display is extraordinary.
