A fun authentic micro distillery located in Edgefield, SC which is producing a handcrafted corm Whiskey, White and Aged Rum, Fruit and high octane Moonshines. Carolina Moon Distillery only distills and bottles what they produce on site and only what they consider to be of the highest quality.
Cute store on the town square. Old architecture. New distilled products. The store has a tasting area for all the alcohols. There is whisky straight or with fruit (peach, blue berry and other). There is peach flavored rum. There is the store's own mojito mix (liquid). There are also many cute shirts and other things. The wait staff was very helpful.

Very well done and you should expect to spend at least two hours at this hidden treasure of Western South Carolina. We visited here with a group for an hour and we didn't even scratch the surface of all the exhibits. There were static displays, interactive dioramas, videos, and even a video game.
Plan on at least two hours and don't forget to visit their store two miles away in downtown Edgefield.

Mother Nature gave Mount Vintage the perfect setting for a golf course with dramatic topography, beautiful tree cover and sparkling streams. Golf Course Architect Tom Jackson designed the 27 holes to fit perfectly into this diverse topography. The result is a championship layout which is scenic, challenging and fun to play for all levels of golfers. Each of the three nines - the Chester Nine, the Vintage Nine and the Independent Nine - has distinguishing features and yet blend together to leave the golfer with vivid memories of beauty.
The golf course is greatly improved and getting better every week, but The Grille is worth a drive out here even if you don't play golf. The reuben sandwich is great for lunch, and the dinners on Thursday and Friday nights are delicious. Try the mushroom bisque, if you're lucky enough to have it the night you go. They say reservations are required, so be sure to call first. We have tried the salads, the soups, and two entrees and all were very good.

walk through the door...and step back in time! love this store-so retro and fun. Lady working there was so friendly. Loved the variety of products for sale. The original wooden floors===neat, loved the old creaking sound. Popular stop in the town square- worth stopping. My daughter loved the stuff animals and purchased a couple. Outside on the buildings wall. one can see the history pf the building through murals

Lovely paved trail through the town. Every tenth of a mile is a stone monument highlighting one of the ten governors from this town. Very educational and easy walk. Well kept with lights for evening strolls. I was impressed at the cleanliness and historic aspect of the walk. Plenty of parking at the trail head.

Wonderful little museum about the history of Edgefield County. Part of the SC Historic Corridor, it houses some nice displays and relics about the area. Located in a 1840 historic house. Well kept with displays that are easy to read and see. From old Indian arrowhead to Strom Thurmond's personal items- a good background of the area can be seen and learned from. Friendly staff worker greeted us and explained some local history to us. Free, donations accepted, this is a must stop for history buffs. Great signage from the interstate makes it easy to find
