A great area for mountain biking.
We had a great time in Tahoe National Forest. This is a large forest with lots of things to do in the Sierra Mountains We had a wonderful time doing a hike, seeing Lake Tahoe, and spending time in the forest.

This trail begins at 7000 ft. and is downhill all the way.
A mountain bikers heaven. Whether you are a seasoned mountain biker or weekend warrior, there are trails for every skill level. The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewartship group has improved these trails over the years (I have been going up there for over 20 years) and it just keeps getting more fun. There is shuttle services out of Downieville to get you up to the top. The best service around for getting you back to your car. The season runs from post-snow through October depending on rain or an early winter. October 2020 was awesome with higher temperatures and dry conditions. Not a good long term forecast but I was thankful that the weekend was warm and dry.
