On the northern tip of Long Beach Island, this park includes a maritime forest, lighthouse, and access to great birding and fishing sites.
First time visiting and we enjoyed the whole area. The lighthouse is well maintained and has a awesome view at the time. There are several landings with information about the lighthouse and also to catch your breath along the way. There is a nice walkway along the shore, very peaceful. Lots of picnic areas around to eat or just to sit and take in the scenery.

I must state that I only gave this an average rating, but we were also only passing through so I do not know if I can provide a full review of the area. We did like the shops and purchased a couple of items. The day we arrived it was cloudy and early in the morning. We stopped on our way to the lighthouse. The shops were unique and the owners were friendly.

LBI's Premiere Parasail Operation
My family and I have been vacationing in BL for years, but last week was the first time we went parasailing. LBI Parasail was excellent and highly professional. The boat's captain and crew were professional and also very personable, putting everyone at ease and making it clear we were all in good hands. The trip takes about 90 minutes and everyone feels like they had plenty of time in the air. I also recommend spending the additional $30 to have the crew take photos of you and your family while you are in the air. Their equipment, with the long lens, and their sea-steady legs got much better and more vibrant photos than anything I could attempt to capture with my phone. The weather was beautiful as was the boat ride. A terrific experience all the way around.

Brought young kids who really enjoyed the brief tour and history. Sinbad the Coast Guard dog was a hit as was the old school house and scavenger hunt. The outdoor gardens are spectacular. It's a real walk into the past that makes you value the sacrifices that got us here today. It's a very good one hour stop while you're near Old Barney!

Reel Reaction Charters - Fishing charters for 1 to 4 passengers. 23ft Parker SportCabin 250HP 4-Stroke outboard. We specialize in light tackle, inshore, and nearshore fishing. You can fish the calm waters of Barnegat Bay for striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, fluke, blowfish, etc. Or you can fish the ocean for fluke, striped bass, bluefish, bonita, bluefin tuna, shark, etc.
This review is for families with youngish ones -I know Brett does more serious stuff also. This is our second year with Captain Brett - my (now) 11 year old and my wife. He does absolutely everything to find fish and make the trip as easy for you as he can - baiting, untangling (!), dehooking, teaching (where necessary) and filleting at the end ( yes we caught plenty to eat - Blues and Fluke) Puffer Fish, and some pesky Sea Robins and crab ( still fun though!)
Brett is great with kids and adults alike. I would recommend 3 (maybe 4) tops for the trip - but really nothing negative to say. Bring your camera - we caught maybe 35 or more fish this morning!

Come join Captain George in Barnegat Light, NJ for a beautiful sail on his charter boat off of Long Beach Island. While in LBI me and some families members did this tour. There were 5 of us and it was the first time sailing for all of us. This is an amazing tour. Captain George is an experienced sailor that will take you an a great sailing cruise. He has many stories to tell you of his adventures and the views are outstanding. We started at Viking Village and sailed right past the Barnegat Lighthouse and then out into the ocean. He had an ship hand, Bridgett who was very friendly and helped to make sure all of the passengers felt safe and comfortable. I will certainly take this tour again next time I am in LBI.
